Story
Casey Cox's DNA is all over the crime scene. There's no use talking to police; they have failed her abysmally before. She has to flee before she's arrested...or worse. The truth doesn't matter anymore. But what is the truth? That's the question haunting Dylan Roberts, the war-weary veteran hired to find Casey. PTSD has marked him damaged goods, but bringing Casey back can redeem him. Though the crime scene seems to tell the whole story, details of the murder aren't adding up.

Story
Nate Beckett has spent his life fighting wildfires instead of the lies and rumors that drove him from his Colorado hometown. His mother begs him to come back now that his father has been released from prison, but it isn’t until he’s sidelined by an injury that he’s forced to return and face his past. But that means facing Brenna, too. Fourteen years ago, Nate was in love with the preacher’s daughter. When Pastor Strickland discovered Brenna defied him to sneak out with Nate, the fight between Strickland and Nate’s drunken dad was loud - and very public.

Praise for Aftermath:
“In Aftermath, Terri Blackstock plumbs the depth of human emotion in the face of devastating tragedy, grief, and loss. Yet, she still manages to give readers her trademark suspenseful story, sweet romance, and hope for the future. From gut-wrenching scenes in a cancer patient’s hospital room to seeing the world through the eyes of a young woman with a debilitating mental health disorder, Blackstock pulls no punches about human frailties. Does the end justify the means? Romantic suspense lovers won’t want to miss Aftermath.” (Kelly Irvin, best-selling author)

Absolutely Loved it!!!
So so good. Finally found an exciting and suspenseful book that holds Christian values and is full of hope and positivity, rather than the garbage language used in most suspense novels. I cannot say enough good things about this book. I highly recommend, if ur looking for something exciting to listen to that won't fill your mind with trash. Excellent Listen!!!

Struggling to finish…
I’ve read almost every book that Terri Blackstock has written so was looking forward to Aftermath and thought I would try the audio book. It’s taken me weeks to get halfway through and I don’t know that I can finish. The performance is awful - she’s not performing, she’s reading. The character voices are terrible. I can’t focus on the storyline because I can’t get past how much I dislike the narration. I think I’ll stick to reading Blackstock’s books

I don’t think I’ll listen to another one
It’s quality writing, but leveraged more to manipulate emotions and release adrenaline than to accentuate a truly interesting plot. The performance was generally very good, but the character voicing was poor, and speech was often read rather than performed. The reading was very clear, though.
I don’t think I’ll listen to another novel by Terri Blackstock.
