Publisher's Summary

After years of bullying and cajoling others as a high-flying public relations boss, Agatha Raisin’s early retirement to the picture-postcard village of Carsley in the Cotswolds is a dream come true. And how better to begin making herself a local leading light than by entering the village quiche-making competition? Unburdened by old-fashioned ideas of fair play, the ruthless Agatha decides to ensure she wins by buying her entry from a London delicatessen. Alas, Agatha’s perfect product is soon exposed - as not only store-bought but poisoned. The contest judge succumbs after eating it, and with him go Agatha’s reputation and her chances of rural bliss - unless she can expose the poisoner....

typical small town murder mystery!

Absolutely LOVED it!!!!!!! Just like a Miss Marple or the main character, Angela Lansbury played, on Murder She Wrote

A great listen

Loved it. The main character is deliciously flawed and the story is woven well. But it’s the narrator who truly shines. Like I said, a great listen.

Cute mystery

I loved it, really easy listening and a cute detective story. For those of us who aren’t into so much gore.

Nice cosy mystery

While it wasn't a "on the edge of you seat" mystery, it was good fun to read. The narrator is excellent and I loved the eccentric characters, and the references to tea and food! Definitely put me in a better mood.

Well done!

An audible book is only as good as the reading. Penelope Keith does a superb job here of giving a sweet cosy mystery its due. Will be looking for other books read by Ms. Keith.

Enjoyable

Nice, cozy mystery for a rainy day and sitting in front of a fireplace. Both the protagonist and the antagonist were likeable.

Loved it!

Agatha is a rather unlikable character that you really like. The pace of the story is perfect and the narration is superb. An extremely enjoyable listen....I'm absolutely moving on to the next book right away!
