À propos de cet audio

Growing older can be daunting. And for many women in particular, it can be downright terrifying.

Melissa Doyle (Sunrise, Sunday Night) recently turned 50 and found herself wanting some guidance on how to approach life’s second act. So she connects with women from different cultures to learn about how growing older can mean forging deeper connections (New Zealand), getting more power (Ghana), more opportunities (Finland) and sometimes more plastic surgery (South Korea). They discuss everything from menopause to sex, political representation to financial security. They find out how to Age Against the Machine.

I personally feel that reciting the litany of the very mainstream media narrative used to put lives and people into categories is useless. reciting over and over again all the most harmful and negative stereotypes associated with females in 20th century Western society seems pointlessly destructive. This is the 21st century; the shit is about to hit the fan, and society's supposed attitudes are the pathetic vestiges of trying to bring order to chaos. Women find their power after 50. listening to silly stereotypical nonsense is harmful. Great idea for the series but it is MEH.
