This book is great have me hoooooked, always something new, something interesting, something great. Battle mode Matt always surprises lol, never a dull moment.

I loved book 1 book 2 was good but kinda bland/circular but book 3 brought it back in my opinion

Half the book the characters talk about normal things and the main characters uses the “ I’m serious” voice with some saddens added in when it doesn’t make sense, also the characters have random debates over things that have no real connection. Besides that the story is good and the action is fun.

Narrator is fine, and the first book gave a modicum of hope for a good series but I'm 2 hours shy of finishing and the only character I haven't come to loathe is Beta.

First off, I generally like Neil Hellegers most everything I've heard him do is great. This series seems to be the exception.

I generally read along with audiobooks, especially in the LitRPG genre. But this series is almost like putting on subtitles on a dubbed anime. It just doesn't match up. There are countless mistakes that makes it just sound weird or makes a scene completely different than what was intended. Entire parts of paragraphs in skipped or moved around and it's super confusing.

The story and plot has been fairly interesting, I struggled a bit with book 1 and the MC constantly getting himself into bad situations because of charging in headfirst without thought. Book 2 was able to mostly redeem the issues I had with book 1 and continued to build the story in satisfying ways. however book 3 has doubled down on all the problems I've had from the first to books.

The MC has gotten dumber and more thoughtless as his knowledge base expands. The number of named characters that are probably supposed to matter is so overwhelming I only remember half of them properly and those are all characters introduced in book 1.

The MC should have had a decent headstart and yet either because he is stupid or being held back by those around him he is still constantly behind so many others, despite that he still somehow managed to bullshit his way through situations with random lightning god powers and plot armor.

I will not be continuing with this series unfortunately despite the overall plot being interesting and enjoyable, the characters and most of the conflicts are not.
