Publisher's Summary

A car lies crashed below a Welsh mountain road. One of the young women inside it is dead, the other badly injured with no memory of who she is or what just happened. All she has is a bus pass showing her photograph and a name she doesn't recognize.

As she struggles to recover from her injuries, a startling revelation shatters everything she thought she knew, forcing her into an uneasy alliance with Detective Bronwen Pryce. With danger closing in from all sides, the two women must work together to uncover the truth - even if it kills them.

Her Best Yet - Highly Recommend

The raw power of the first books has been supplanted by clever, more sophisticated verbal gymnastics. I use the word "verbal" because this is a book that is best heard as a performance -- and Ms. Vincent is the perfect match. This is like the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo for me, in that I can't really imagine reading it (as opposed to listening to it being performed). The dialogue cascades at you in a wonderful, spontaneous way. (Note the use of the present tense, a tricky bit of business!) I tend to read hard sci-fi, police procedurals and historical biographies. About 5 times a year I stumble on something that compels me to do a review. This is such a book. Don't read it if you can't deal with a lesbian as the lead detective -- do read it (even if you are a older straight male like me) if you are a person who really enjoys a fast-moving, involving mystery with a Manchester/Wales backdrop and an insightful self-awareness that is as enjoyable as it is character-rich. There....an entire paragraph, and not one word about the plot -- which you will just have to read for yourself.

Not in love, but definitely in like!

I'm a huge Cari Hunter fan, but I was expecting more from this book. The murder mystery of the book was fantastic, kept me on the edge of my seat!! I absolutely love the narrator! She has an amazing voice and never fails to schmooze my ears and senses. What I didn't like was the romance piece or severely lack there of one. Romance this was not. It all was fairly awkward and kind of a side note. I found myself wondering how did that happen with no lead up, lack of chemistry, and sort of anti climactic. The story would have been just the same with that bit, which says alot. Other than that, the rest of the book was good and still worth the credit!

Buy this audiobook!

This book is exciting from beginning to end. Cari Hunter knows how to write thrillers! I listened to this book non stop to the end. Nicola Victoria Vincent has such a way with European accents. It's like a gift! From the very first moments of this book I felt a sense of anticipation of what was going to happen. Most books are somewhat predictable in the "who done it" arena, but this one keeps you guessing until the end! Also, I don't fluff reviews for anyone or any reason. If it's great I say so. If it's not so great I say that too, just with less exuberance.

I loved Alias by Cari Hunter. WoW. You will not be able to stop listening! Once you start, you will not be able to put it down. Excellent mystery. Excellent story. And last but not least, narrated by everyone's favorite narrator, Nicola Victoria Vincent.

Loved it!

A story based on amnesia usually does not get my attention but if Cari Hunter writes a book I have to read it and then listen to it. I trust she will deliver a great story. Alias does not disappoint. In fact it is highly entertaining. I love the way she writes. Her dialogue and imagery are ridiculously appealing and Nicola Victoria Vincent's performance complements her work beautifully. The result is outstanding!

Wished there was more, but enjoyed it nonetheless.

I wanted more for each character I suppose. How "good" of a cop are they really? I wished there was greater interaction between all the named characters good and bad so I would at least truely believe the ending. Something deeper I guess. I would suggest it to another, solely on the angle to story took.

10 Stars!

Picked this up days after reading the Kindle version - as soon as it became available. The narration takes an already great book to another level. Not sure what else to say here. Cari Hunter does not disappoint. Neither does Nicola Victoria Vincent.
