Publisher's Summary

From best-selling author Maggie Stiefvater, a gripping tale of darkness, miracles, and family.

Any visitor to Bicho Raro, Colorado is likely to find a landscape of dark saints, forbidden love, scientific dreams, miracle-mad owls, estranged affections, one or two orphans, and a sky full of watchful desert stars.

At the heart of this place you will find the Soria family, who all have the ability to perform unusual miracles. And at the heart of this family are three cousins longing to change its future: Beatriz, the girl without feelings, who wants only to be free to examine her thoughts; Daniel, the Saint of Bicho Raro, who performs miracles for everyone but himself; and Joaquin, who spends his nights running a renegade radio station under the name Diablo Diablo.

They are all looking for a miracle. But the miracles of Bicho Raro are never quite what you expect.

Magnificent Magic Voices

There are some things that we take for granted, it happens all the time, right? The characters in All the Crooked Saints are all thinking of themselves?! Beatrix is one of those who can make you be happy to see, just like her. She somehow makes you feel small and indignant? The older ones don’t teach the younger ones. Leaving them to find a place where they can live in harmony with others occasionally!
For the most of the people in the book are looking for something special. Some find that special something, but do not know how to use it!
Maggie Stiefvater weaves a group of people who are waiting for their special gift, some know what a life can bring, but others don’t. Read the series for the most moving, beautiful people... also the ones who have lost something but they can have a better life by staying around the Crooked Saints.
Read this book with it’s to and from keeping you in the dark or filling you up with light. The books are everything you need or want in a different reality, that is lost to us! Ms Stiefvater has written a great book, that has us on the edge of our seats waiting for the next thing to happen to any one or two.
Read this book for an hour or so, then you put All the Crooked Saints and 3hours have gone by.
I hope that you read it, or listen if you have Audible.

What a wonderful story!

Part fairy tale, part shaman teaching story. At first I wondered why it was interesting, and then I couldn’t stop listening.

Not a Perfect Novel

This one was a decent novel and I enjoyed it a lot but it wasn't a "perfect" novel and not even close to Stiefvater's best. I liked a lot of the themes and the world itself - and the narration for the audiobook was amazing! - but the rest of it was meh. I may actually recommend this to people who want to get into Stiefvater's work before reading The Raven Cycle.

internal conflict made visible

I didn't find the story engrossing, though the characters certainly were. The issue is that I listen while doing manual tasks, so perhaps the significance of some of the imagery used was lost on me? I liked the innovative writing style and concepts, though.
when all the conflict and resolution is cerebral (yet visible) for the characters it makes some things more subtle.

A wonderful little myth

A quirky story and characters. The narration really brought the humour to life. The mystery of each characters backstory was neatly woven into the tale. A sweet look at romance and the trials of family love.

Difficult to follow

Made it to chapter 3 and couldn’t go any further. Did not enjoy my spur of the moment daily deal purchase.

Such a slow start - but heartwarming end

I almost gave up. The plot took a very long time to reveal itself, but I persevered because it was well written. It finally got interesting around the 2/3s mark. At least for me.
