Publisher's Summary

Four women - friends, family, rivals - turn to online dating for companionship, only to find themselves in the crosshairs of a tech-savvy killer using an app to target his victims in this harrowing thriller from the New York Times best selling author of See Jane Run and The Bad Daughter

Online dating is risky - will that message be a sweet greeting or an unsolicited lewd photo? Will he be as handsome in real life as he is in his photos, or were they taken 10 years and 20 pounds ago? And when he asks you to go home with him, how do you know it’s safe? The man calling himself “Mr. Right Now” in his profile knows that his perfect hair, winning smile, and charming banter put women at ease, silencing any doubts they might have about going back to his apartment. There, he has a special evening all planned out: steaks, wine, candlelight...and, by the end of the night, pain and a slow, agonizing death.

Driven to desperation - by divorce, boredom, infidelity, a beloved husband’s death - a young woman named Paige, her cousin and rival Heather, her best friend, Chloe, and her mother, Joan, all decide to try their hand at online dating. They each download an app, hoping to right-swipe their way to love and happiness.

But one of them unwittingly makes a date with the killer, starting the clock on a race to save her life.

New York Times best-selling author Joy Fielding has crafted a complex, electrifying thriller about friendship, jealousy, and passion - a deadly combination.

enjoyable

A little predictable but enjoyable. Similar to a harlequin movie with a lot more swearing!

On My All Time Worst List!!

This was easily in my top five WORST books that I have listened to. I wanted to quit so many times but held on to the hope that it would get better. It never happened. The characters were underdeveloped and some had no relevance to the plot.

I hated one character and wanted to see revenge yet the author let us all down by not letting us know any details. There was really no likable characters.

The only interesting character was the serial killer but the author hardly brought him into the story.

Most of all this was not a thriller of any kind. It was very boring from beginning to end and quite amateurish.

The narrator although good could not make this book shine.

Wait, what????

This book, ugh, where to start! It disappointed me so much. I enjoyed 75% of the book and then the author basically b**ch slaps the readers and ruins the entire book! Quick synopsis, this is a story of four women, a sadistic serial killer terrorizing Boston, and the sinister side of social media and online dating. I’m not going to outright spoil this book for anyone intent on reading/listening so stop here just in case.

Now for those like me who were incensed by this book carry on! I can’t even call it an ending the author just stops. I actually thought I hit something on my phone and listened again, but no she just quits. Mind you I’m not one of those readers that likes the things in a nice bow type ending but this was irritating. I just returned two bad books and this one deserved returning but I won’t since I finished it. I mean I guess I did. The author ended the book so abruptly! But that wasn’t the only thing I take issue with. In the book there is a character who is truly awful. She’s narcissistic, manipulative, selfish, vapid, superficial and just plain mean. You find yourself wanting something bad to happen to her. And that left a sour taste in my mouth, because as nasty as the character was, she didn’t deserve to be brutally murdered. But I just know that is what the author wanted us to feel. I definitely think the character deserved to lose her job, boyfriend etc her ‘just desserts’ not murder. Ugh it just ticked me off royally. I agree with the other reviewer who put this on their worst ever list. Really bad.....

Twisted page turner

Several stories entwined with just enough jealously to keep me reading. Tho soon it all plays out with general flurry of predictable events....Great Beach/Travel read.

More please

I really enjoyed this book and wish I had more of here to listen to but I’ve heard them all. A great easy listen with the right amount of twists and turns.
