Didn’t care for narrator
Her voice was too limited for the number of characters, and was too whiny for the main character. She sounded like she was 12.

A culinary buffet of plot turns
I personally love to cook. This novel intrigued me because it has a backdrop of cooking. Jenna, a chef and fresh off a divorce and moves home to open a cooking store. Sounds like a trite story line, but wait. Her birth parents show up unannounced after 32 and never meeting her, her new store manage has her own mini-story line, her birth mother figures prominently and Jenna gets a boyfriend (not a spoiler -- it's a romance book after all). Anyway, all of these characters dodge and weave in a intricate web. The teaser suggests the ex-husband plays a role -- but he is a fleeting part of the story, maybe he gets five minutes total.
Teri Clark Linden does not have a lot of range in her voice to carry off all the characters. She is not awful, but that is all I can say. This book is light on romance, heavy on redemption and light on sex. It's a fun read if not a little long. I give it a cautious thumbs up. One bonus, there are recipes at then end (that is a spoiler).

Get Out the Kleenex
I enjoyed the story. Many have said that the narration was a problem - I disagree. The narrator did a very good job. I don't want to give anything away, but I usually stay away from books that make me cry. This one did. I read books for laughter, good stories, interesting characters and a way to escape life and its traumas. This book delivered on most counts, but added traumas I did not need or want.
I will be happy to read more from this author and listen to more books by this narrator. I just wish there was a way to give a kleenex rating so that I can avoid tear-jerkers in the future!

Buy a Different Format
Wonderful author, and I love all of her books, including this one. Most of Susan Mallery's books have a fantastic narrator (Tanya Eby), but NOT this one. Buy a different format! I had to stop listening after the first hour and bought the book on kindle. The voice of Violet and the voice of the dad were like nails on a chalkboard BAD.

Good story, Terrible Narrator
The story is good but the narration was very poor! At times, I LOL for real when the Bio-Dad's voice started. They really should redo this one.

Great Story; Terrible Narrator
I loved this story, but I had a very hard time getting past the narration. I could only listen for a little while at a time because the narration was so annoying.

Great book - didn't care for the narrator.
This is one I would recommend you read instead of listen to. Narrator is very nasally.
