Publisher's Summary

Robin Alexander cooks up another tale using her favorite recipe - love, family, and a healthy dose of humor.

Dana Castilaw grew up tossing coins in a well, hoping her wishes would come true, but the candy fountain, puppy, and love never seemed to manifest. At 18, she left her hometown of Barbier Point, Louisiana, longing to be free of her father's chokehold on her life and with a heart full of dreams she hoped would come true. Years later, she is forced to return home with at least one granted wish - her daughter, Sydney.

Alex Soileau stood at Dana's side for years tossing her coins into the well, making the same wish each time, a secret plea that she refused to reveal even to her best friend. Time and maturity insisted that she give up on her one fervent desire, but her heart never would.

Reunited as adults, both women realize that maybe there was magic in the well after all.

Entertaining Story!

Robin Alexander knows how to write a charming story with likable main characters as well as an odd, lovable supporting cast. For me there were laugh-out-loud moments in the book. Lori Prince is, as ever, superb as narrator. Definitely worth the credit,

Wickedly Charming!

You just can't go wrong with a Robin Alexander novel... Especially with Lori Prince as her narrator. Robin Alexanders sense of humor on paper is unmatched but extremely complimented by Lori Prince's spot on delivery of the lines!

This combo is my go-to when I need a chuckle and or cheering up!

HILARIOUS!!!!!

MawMaw stole every scene!!! The dialogue as written is hilarious, and Lori Prince's performance had me bent over in stitches -- AT WORK!!!!! I have deep roots in and around New Iberia, LA, and I never felt insulted or that the accents were over-the-top. A delightful story with distinct, memorable characters and voices. Alexander did a marvelous job keeping the story realistic. Age is a factor!!! lol

Didn’t enjoy narration

I enjoyed the story but the narration was hard to listen to. I almost returned the book because of if. Some of the voices came across as caricatures more than anything else. At times it felt like screaming. That being said I enjoyed the story and the characters. It would not have been worth a credit but it was worth the sale price. I think I have listed to Lori Prince before and don’t remember hating her narration before. Not sure what happened here.

Just so so

The low brow humor wasn’t my cup of tea. The exaggerated ‘hick accent’ for the older folks grated as did the intended humor over the drunk by noon smutty mouthed “maw maw” (Alex’s grandmother).

The mother daughter rapport between Dana and Sydney was nicest part of story. And Dana’s father’s efforts to mend their relationship was also nice family aspect to story. I was wondering why the dad of gal in her 30s was described as so feeble. He would likely just be in his 60s.

Bravo...Again

Robin Alexander did it again. I laughed so hard and at the same time felt the love with the 2 women. This is truly worth the time to listen. I am sorry it ended.

disappointed

This book was listed as romantic comedy. While that is partly true, it is also a book about two women discovering they have a romantic interest in each other. This should be more clear -- should be labeled as a gay romance.

Funny and heart warming

This writer definitely has a funny sense of humor. I enjoy the flawed and real characters, sweet heart tugging moments, a good romance with the touch of slapstick humor.
