Story
They say that your school years are supposed to be the best years of your life, and that you should make the most of them because you'll miss them when you're all grown up. Up until Maisie Preston's senior year, she would have totally agreed with that statement. Life was great, she had everything going for her, excellent grades, great parents, an annoying yet caring twin brother, and an impossibly sweet boyfriend. Everything was perfect - that is until the arrival of Zach Anderson.

Everyone says opposites attract. And they must be right, because there’s no logical reason why I’m so drawn to Colin Fitzgerald. I don’t usually go for tattoo-covered, video-gaming, hockey-playing nerd-jocks who think I’m flighty and superficial. His narrow view of me is the first strike against him. It doesn’t help that he’s buddy-buddy with my brother. And that his best friend has a crush on me. And that I just moved in with them. Oh, did I not mention we’re roommates?

The first book in the scorching new Hot Jocks series by New York Times best-selling author Kendall Ryan - available in audio first! I've never been so stupid in my entire life. After our team won the championship, our flirting turned physical, and I took her to bed. Then shame sent her running the next morning from our catastrophic mistake.

He walked into school on his first day and owned it. I guess that's what happens when you're a prick, rich, and you're best friends with the ruling school's king. Also didn't hurt that he's drop-dead gorgeous. That's all fine. I mean, I have nothing to do with them. I'm a loner, invisible, and that's how I wanted it to be. I was even proud of it, until I wasn't. His name is Blaise Devroe. My name is Aspen Monson. He only knew how to get, command, and demand attention. I knew how to do everything but that. And this is our story.

I crawled into Ryan Jensen’s bed that first night by accident. I barely knew him. I thought it was his sister’s bed - her room. It took seconds to realize my error, and I should've left... I didn’t. I didn’t jump out. I didn’t get embarrassed. I relaxed. And that night, in that moment, it was the only thing I craved. I asked to stay. He let me, and I slept. The truth? I never wanted to leave his bed. If I could've stayed forever, I would have. He became my sanctuary. Because - four hours earlier - my twin sister killed herself.

Their relationship has always been easy and affectionate, but after Riley's month long vacation, things become a little strange. She starts to look at him in ways that go way beyond the 'friend zone'. Add in her best friend's rival, and things become a whole lot more complicated.

Always you
What did you like best about this story?
A love story of two best friends who grew up together !! Clay sounds like the most handsome boy who is soo sweet to Riley his best friend and the girl he is so obviously in love with to everyone but her. They have some ups and downs along the way but what's a great love story without the good and the bad times. I love Clay and Riley from both of their point of views and I'm telling you this is such a sweet story. Andrea did a great job with the narration.

What did you like best about Always You? What did you like least?
Best ~ There was an interesting story line. Not like most YA/New Adult books.
Least ~ The story line was very unrealistic at times. Teenagers and parents are NOT like this in real life. I know this is fiction.
What about Andrea Emmes’s performance did you like?
I liked her female voices. Her male voices were a little rough. I think Ms. Emmes did the best she could with the material she was given. I would like to give her another chance with a different book. I really want to see Ms. Emmes succeed in narrating.
Do you think Always You needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
No, the plot of this book was so unrealistic that I think that a follow up isn't necessary.
Any additional comments?
I'm glad that Always You was fiction. I can't see this happening in real life. Yes, teens fall in love, have bad relationships and feel as tho they are with the love of their life at the age of 17. I just think that this story was so ... out there. I can't see parents condoning the behavior in this book.

Teenage Love is Sometimes True Love
I really enjoyed Riley and Clay's story. They were both very young but their love was real~something many do not find in an entire lifetime. Although the book is categorized as YA (which I am not), anyone who had a first true love in high school will relate to the problems and emotions of this young couple. The parents of both, in my opinion, were too permissive but I liked them~particularly the mothers who stood strong for their children when necessary. The narration was great and the ending was just perfect....

Sweet YA Romance
What did you like best about this story?
The "innocence" of the characters coming into their love.
Have you listened to any of Andrea Emmes’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Yes. I really enjoyed how the narrator is able to make the characters feel alive and "real". There was a lot of personality and emotion with these characters that I think really moved the story along. Especially when the main character was going through heartache.

Bad Boy!
This wasn't my normal genre and in all honesty it was way too long for this genre. Of not for the narrator and her talents then I may would've stopped because the length just didn't suite the story. But don't get me wrong because author Kirsty Moseley created a great story and I do love bad boys. The story was filled with drama, amazing characters, and romance. This was the first story that I've listened to by this author. I must say the story was well written but I do want to offer some advice to the author and she can use it or not in the future that's totally up to her. I think when writing this type of story the length should be anywhere from 4 to 9 hours tops. This story would've received better reviews if the story wasn't soo long, honestly.
Andrea Emmes, I must say thank you for getting me through this story. It was a good story but way too long and I feel sorry for the long hours it had to have taken for you to have finished narrating the story. You did an amazing job with your telling of this story. I didn't have any trouble identifying the characters. You kept me listening to the story even when I wanted to quit so thank you for that. The story is worth the listen if you take the time and have the time to listen. I've listened to stories that are alot longer but because of it being a different genre it worked. I received this audio from the author/narrator in exchange for an unbiased review.

Loved it, hated it
I really enjoyed the overall storyline of this book, it was quite involved and a lot happened over the course of the book. However, there was lot that I intensely disliked about this book as well. Primarily these were:
1. The reader has to suspend their belief quite significantly as the story unfolds, primarily due to the behaviour of the parents. For instance, Riley's parents don't seem to express any concern over their 16 year old daughter going on a date with a 21 year old, even though her date quite rightly points out that they can't have sexual relations because he could get charged with statutory rape. Also, they seem to be quite happy for Riley and her best male friend to have sleepovers in the same bed all the time, even though she at 16 and he at 18 are at a prime age for something more than friendship to be going on.
2. Clay constantly refers to Riley as 'Riley Bear' which became incredibly annoying after a while. Ditto with Blake always referring to her as jailbait because she was younger than he. Neither one of her romantic interest seemed to call her by her real name.
3. The two MC constantly telling the reader how beautiful their boyfriend/girlfriend is... Ok, we get it, they are extremely good looking!
4. The fairly constant stream of girls and even women who hit on Clay or Blake while Riley is out with them, or the constant glares and dirty looks she gets from females when she is seen together with them.... do females really behave this way when they see another girl with a good looking guy? Apparently they do. And
5. The slut shaming.
However, although these facets of the story aggravated the hell out of me, I was thankfully still able to enjoy the overall story. At first it seemed there was going to be an annoying love triangle but it was great to see the story take a surprising turn and go down a completely different path. The relationship that Riley eventually forms with one of the boys
Is really quite charming and loving and I really cheered for them to work. The characters also have to face some trials and tribulations over the course of the book and this kept me interested in the story.
Finally, This is the second young adult book I have listened to that was narrated by Andrea Emmes and I think she performed well. She seems quite suited to the YA genre and I have enjoyed her narration on both occasions.
Overall, I would say if you feel you can move past the aforementioned annoying parts of the book, this may be an audiobook you could enjoy.
I was provided a free copy of this audible book in exchange for an honest review.

A sweet love story!
Would you listen to Always You again? Why?
No, I don't usually listen to books a second time.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Always You?
The part after the 'fight' and the moments in the hospital. Although I think that the parent-children relationship was a little too fictional, I don't think there is a possible way to persuade someone that his parents don't love him enough and are selfish for a decision like that.
Have you listened to any of Andrea Emmes’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, I haven't but I really liked her voice very much.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I couldn't if I tried because it is a 15 hour book, but after the second half it was way more interesting and I've listened to most of it in almost two sittings.
Any additional comments?
I received this audiobook in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts opinions and ratings are my own. I was under no obligation to post a review or give positive feedback.
I hope this review was useful to you and helped your decision to read or not read this book. I love reading and sharing my opinions with other readers.
Thank you very much Kirsty Moseley and of course Andrea Emmesh for this book.
