Publisher's Summary

Robert Garry, ex-military officer, wants nothing more than to maintain his integrity and his team's safety despite a career change to pirate leader, but a cargo freighter he targets proves to be holding much more than he bargained for.

Will he escape with his own life, let alone the lives of his crew?

He has always shunned the 'folk hero' label but is he in danger of becoming an arch villain in the process?

Engaging and Thrilling

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, it's an excellent read and very informative of the lore. The book is well written and it hooks you right in from the very beginning. Out of all the Elite books I have read, this one was the most exciting. The story is very engaging, and has a lot of action and mystery. I did feel some things were a little drawn out near the middle of the book, but it is definitely worth a full read. I actually plan on listening to it a second time to look for parts I may have missed.

What did you like best about this story?

What I loved most about the story is the same thing I hated most about the story.
And that would be the fate of Soontill. I believe Robert Garry made the wrong choice and may have very well endangered us all.

Any additional comments?

If I ever find Robert Garry in the game, I will kill him for his crimes against humanity.

Full Production Quality

These Eilte Dangerous Audiobooks are a must-have for fans of the game (without exception) and Science Fiction. Full production with character. prices and SFX. May be short but the quality makes up for it in spades. Intense deep story and character building. New favorite.

Wonderful production

Any additional comments?

Great story that is well written and well read. The sound and production design is top notch and really puts you in the Elite universe.

The only criticism I have is the echo filter laid on top of all the dialogue. Conversations all sound like they're happening inside a public bathroom regardless of wether they take place inside a ship or on the surface of planet. The result is a feeling of distance from the characters that sacrifices the intimacy of the readers full voice for extra, and in my opinion, unneeded SFX. It's a minor annoyance that I eventually got used to. Overall, very high quality.
