Publisher's Summary
The best-selling author of Practical Magic tells the tale of a man and a woman, an activist and a therapist, so consumed with helping others that they are in danger of failing in their duty to themselves.
Natalie, a therapist, is in love with Carter - but he is deeply dedicated to his environmental work, and the fate of their relationship takes a backseat to the fate of the planet. Then a new client walks into Natalie's office. He is an intriguing man, with an incredible tale to tell, and under his influence she faces questions about the direction of her own passion, the true meaning of commitment…and the possibility of finding the love she seeks - right in her own backyard.

not a favorite
I've been attached to Alice Hoffman as one of my favorite writers for years.. but this is not a favorite book. Finn is complex and interesting but Natalie I couldn't warm up to. The supporting characters are very strong but the romance doesn't seem to flow naturally to me...

ugh.
I love Alice Hoffman books and am on a mission to read them all. This book is so unlike her otherwise very good writing, I kept checking to see if she was actually the author. Sadly there just aren't any redeeming qualities to this book.

I’m spite of being free
Idkw I talked myself into listening to another of her books, especially after slogging through 7th Heaven and swearing to quit her in the middle of each and every long and meaningless chapter after #2). At the end, I still didn’t know what she was yammering on about.
Well, this story was equally tedious. The characters were one dimensional. I could not get mental a pic of Flynn, other than one of those cardboard cut outs…flat. And he certainly had no sex appeal to me. I absolutely could not see what she saw in him. The main female character was a ridiculous and dangerously unprofessional mental health provider, and leaving her therapy position was a blessing for all of mankind and the only conclusion that made sense.
I can’t even recall the characters’ names while writing this, but the boyfriend was an idiot and equally as flat as Flynn.
The narrator was bad. I can’t really describe her any other way. I will watch out for her in the future!
Now, let’s get to the plot. Like 7th Heaven; what plot? I read the reviews for both books, and the only ones I would agree with in retro are those similar in content to mine.
Everyone does NOT have a good book in them. In short, don’t waste your time.

mentally scrumptious
Loved the story. As usual, I had a grin on my face after reading one of Ms. Hoffman's tales. She's an expert at weaving with words a wonderful tapestry in one"s mind. Mentally scrumptious.

Beautiful
I am enthralled with Alice Hoffman and the way she crafts words into stories. Ms. Hoffman has a way of drawing a reader in and expanding one’s mind to a place one could never visit otherwise. I don’t know if this story would touch anyone else in the way it touched me. What I can know is if you are the type of reader who values a well written story, full of dynamic characterizations and authentic settings, you may want to spend time listening to “Angel Landing”.

skip it!!!
I found the plot to be very weird. The characters were not well developed or likable especially Michael Finn. I kept hoping that more details would come to life to make the characters seem realistic but they never did. I would not recommend this book.

Hated the story and the people. Hated the narration
I just don't get why this awful story was written. The main character is an idiot. Sorry it's true. Finn is a weak in all respects and the narrator nsfe him sound creepy to boot. It's the second worst book I've ever read.

Could not finish
Narration was good and the only reason I held on as long as I did. Plot seemed interesting but quickly turned insipid and unlikely. Just not my cup of tea.
