Publisher's Summary

As an a'ani warrior, my life matters little. Cloned from the same matter as thousands of others, I am but one of many. Here on the ice planet, though, I can start over. I can become my own person, have my own needs, my own wants.

I know what I want. I have known since the moment I arrived.

Her name is Angie. She is human, with sad, lonely eyes, and a very pregnant belly. To her, I am not just another clone. I am Vordis, the one who laughs at her jokes, tends to her needs, and makes her smile. I will do anything to make her mine.

But my brother and fellow clone Thrand thinks the same way, and he's just as determined to win her. Will I have to destroy my bond with my brother to win my female? Or will he cause a rift between us that's impossible to mend?

Contains mature themes.

Funny and entertaining

4 Blue Roses
3.5 to 4 Blue Flames

Dual Narrators Sean Crisden and Felicity Munroe delivered a funny heartfelt tale unique only to Ruby Dixon. These two narrators blend together like sunshine and happiness. I could not stop smiling while listening to them perform. That includes some ugly reverse sneezing sounds and tears definitely not brought on by sadness. Our heroine is pregnant, stranded on an ice planet with two emotionally stupid alien gladiators fussing about her. This is a guaranteed pick me upper.

I definitely recommend this audiobook if you like Ruby Dixon at her best.

Happy Listening

Yes!!! 👏👏👏

This book was fun and hilarious. Would be great as an tv series on Showtime or HBO or cinemax maybe cause of the adult theme but for female audience 😉. It kept my interest the whole way through and was totally worth the credit. If u dont have a credit to spare then totally worth the money 💰👌

Knock knock! Who’s there? Baby cockblock

That’s the plot of this book in a nutshell. The mfc (Angie) tells bad jokes that the mmc (Vordis) doesn’t get. Then she takes us through the low moods of her (alien implanted) pregnancy 🥱. Then through her new mother OCD 🥱. Then through her “isn’t my baby beautiful” phase 🥱 🤮. All the while she’s a real champ at invalidating the mmc’s feelings and actions because she doesn’t understand what it means to fight to overcome mental conditioning. Or to be a clone. Both of which are huge personal identity challenges the mmc is facing.

All of the effort and longing in their relationship was one sided. Poor Vordis, he was the selfless, workhorse of courting. In summary: Self absorbed heroine. No romance. No sex 4eva.

As expected, pregnant Angie fizzles the sizzle

Being preggers from the get go makes this a tame, slow burn with too many sweet parts about Vordis being a great daddy and provider. Just kisses and talk until the last hour or so. There wasn’t nearly enough humor and zero conflict or story beyond Angie’s pregnancy and Vordis’ thinking he has no value beyond being a clone. Snooze.

Great Story, Great Narration

I’m a big Ruby Dixon fan, so I won’t expound on her incredible storytelling abilities. (She’s incredible.) I enjoyed this audiobook version mainly because these narrators are new to me and they seemed to match the characters so well. While I love listening to previous narrators (Loyd and Jackson), these two were great for a change up.

very enjoyable

I really enjoyed this book. It was very nice and I liked the story line. The sex was very light which is a change. I liked the voices of the people. All in all it was a good buy well worth the credit spent.

Fun and sexy

Ruby Dixon gives the heat and the humor along with the HEA
It's getting to that point that is enjoyable. if I can listen to a narrator and not has to change the speed or anything that's a 5 star
Thanks for the new series and the humorous and heated resonance pairings.

By far my favorite narrator combo

Love love love Ruby’s books I’ve. been reading her books since the first Barbarian came out and was instantly hooked, and the books just keep getting better! I love how swoon worthy Vordis is and how the two narrators give life to the characters, makes it a great listen for my commute, I could listen to them individually or together all day! I vote they keep getting paired for her books they killed it!

Wonderful story…

Such a wonderful story. I loved everything about this from the beginning and couldn’t help but to root for vortis from the start. Being on a island so far from home and pregnant was a struggle for Angie but he always had her in his heart.
