Redeeming points

I'm so invested in all the characters from Jess' story that I made it through the weak female character of the first book and finished the second too. Anna has regained some of her strength by not moping and pining after Malcolm buy its only because he finally saw the light after a push from heaven. Wish there was a little more outside the soulmate love circle in this story, maybe the next book?
