Publisher's Summary

A bold new analysis of one of history’s most misrepresented women.

History has lied.

Anne Boleyn has been sold to us as a dark figure, a scheming seductress who bewitched Henry VIII into divorcing his queen and his church in an unprecedented display of passion. Quite the tragic love story, right?

Wrong.

In this electrifying exposé, Hayley Nolan explores for the first time the full, uncensored evidence of Anne Boleyn’s life and relationship with Henry VIII, revealing the shocking suppression of a powerful woman.

So leave all notions of outdated and romanticised folklore at the door and forget what you think you know about one of the Tudors’ most notorious queens. She may have been silenced for centuries, but this urgent book ensures Anne Boleyn’s voice is being heard now.

Best book for the truth

This has to be the best book I have ever read/listened to. The author reads her work in such a compelling and engaging way. Hearing the real truth about Anne Boleyn was refreshing and much needed. I am so glad someone FINALLY did proper research. I always believed there was more to this story. By then end I get I was mourning the loss in a way I never have before. Hayley Nolan is as amazing as this book is.

Loved This Book

I cannot express how refreshing it was to read an evidence based account of Anne's world!

As a lover of all things Tudor history I can say with certainty that men have stollen, and twisted her story for long enough.

I am so glad Hayley Nolan finally gave Anne Boleyn a voice.

interesting perspective

i struggled to get through this book, not because of the story, but because of the annoying narrator. She swings between the overdone, exaggerated sing-song of a kindergarten teacher reading to children to dripping with sarcasm -- as if she cannot rely upon her writing to convey her intent. Her perspective on the true character of Anne Boleyn is interesting, although I'm not convinced that all of her arguments are as firmly proven as she suggests. Her disdain for any other historian who has ever investigated this story is off-putting -- they can't all be out to taint Queen Boleyn's character or intentions. Nevertheless, it is interesting and worth a listen.

Difficult to listen to

The book itself seems well reasearched and gives a different take on Anne Bolyn however it's difficult to listen to. Feels like I'm in grammer school listening to an animated reading by the author. It's unforante acually because the topic is intresting and well-rounded, but the author's reading of it is painful. Which is sad because it takes away from the quality and work of Hayley Nolan.

Avoid this one..

A very informal biography of Anne Boleyn full of millennial internet lingo that was really difficult to listen to. The author continuously puts down the work of her colleagues which seems... really immature and unprofessional especially when her book was terrible.
I'm not really sure who this book is for. If you really want to listed to it skip to about 5h30m in or I don't think you'll make it past the second chapter.
