This is a cute, short audiobook and a very enjoyable listen. It features charming, surprisingly complex characters, a brief (and spicy!) romantic storyline, and a cute cozy holiday setting centered around a bookstore.

I especially appreciate the focus on imperfect characters and the thoughtful inclusion of mental health struggles. Kael's visible differences from the average human are acknowledged without being overemphasized, and their relaxed acceptance of them adds depth and charm to their character.

I will definitely look for more works by this author. While this audiobook isn't meant to redefine classic literature, it offers a warm, low-stress listening experience and provides a welcome break from the pressures of the holiday season.
