Publisher's Summary

After experiencing his first panic attack on New Year's Day of 2003, Dan Ryckert began a 12-year process of learning how to channel panic disorder and generalized anxiety disorder until they became driving forces in his life. Using anxiety as his ally, he was able to land dream jobs within the video game industry and vastly improve the quality of his personal life.

In this candid recollection, you'll learn about how he went from having panic attacks during college roll calls to speaking in front of large crowds with minimal interference from anxiety. More importantly, Ryckert details the methods in which he channeled these once-negative conditions until they became a driving force in his life and something he wouldn't get rid of even if he was given the chance.

Way better than I figured

I am a big fan of Dan, but I always tended to avoid self help books because I felt they were boring. This self help book was anything but. Dan is so down to earth and open about his condition that it helped me to look inward and seek help for my anxiety. I'm even looking forward to trying meditation and yoga lol

Helpful, relatable and concise

Don’t have much to say other than I’m glad I finally took the time to read this book. Very helpful during a chaotic few months. Very relatable and grounded.

Helpful Approaches Spoken Honestly

I have anxiety and I work with a lot of individuals who struggle with anxiety & panic attacks. I find this book offers a personal perspective that is relatable and the ups and downs of various tools to manage are also within reach, even those things that did not work for him, he is quick to acknowledge that this is an individual journey and it's that trial and error willingness to keep searching for what works for you.
