Publisher's Summary

Reagan Cooper has been an out and proud lesbian since high school, but can't say no when her gay best friend, Jamie Miller, asks her to pretend to be his girlfriend for his family reunion. Jamie has been there for her through everything. Plus, she's interested in learning more about the family he never speaks of.

Living in California for eight years, Charlie Miller has been able to live authentically, but being back in her small Maryland hometown with her conservative family means going back into the closet. What she didn't expect was to be so attracted to her brother's girlfriend.

Strangely Familiar

If you were one of the Audible Customers who listened to K. L. Hughes' The Wrong McElroy, this plot will sound familiar, very familiar. Personally I prefer the Hughes version.

A well written story with just the right amount of angst! Stephanie Murphy’s narration really brings the story to life!

Had some potential

This was a cute story, the premise was very intriguing to me so I knew I had to get it. The narration was just off for some of the seriouness the book had. Parts that required some really serious performance by the narrator was simply missed. It was read all in 1 tone despite which MC was talking and what situation was happening. Although I do feel with a much better performance it would make the story better I think both the writer and narrator did the best they could. I do feel being a narrator is even more challenging than being an actor because you have only you voice to convey every action and not your face or movements to also tell the story of the character or characters you are portraying. I am not a narrator as I simply don't have the talent it takes to be one so my hat's off to them, Stephanie I think you could be great if your tone changed to match the scene you are reading and also if we could tell which character was talking.

Wonderful love story

I enjoyed this story very much, was very funny, although has some hard moments. I enjoyed very much listening about this love at first sight story. I couldn't stop until I finished it. The chemistry between the main characters is amazing and the grandma is so cool, she is definitely my fav second character. Stephanie Murphy did an excellent job, it is fascinating to listen that something extra she brings into the narration.

Great new romance twist!

I loved this book. The fact that Erica Lee could think up this cool story of two gay best friends going home for the holidays and pretending to be a couple... you know I had to read it! Finished it in three days and wish I read it a little slower. I’ll definitely buy more books from Erica Lee if it’s anything to do with lesbian romance.

Predictable and cringy

That’s it. The title is the review. Also the narrator is trying way too hard.
Disappointed all around.
