Publisher's Summary

From the founder of That’s Inappropriate - one of the most popular parenting blogs on the web - comes a hilarious, genuine, and relatable essay collection on the ups and downs of motherhood.

Meredith Masony founded That’s Inappropriate in 2014 as an innocent and humorous way to chronicle her chaotic days as a working mom, child wrangler, and busy wife. It soon evolved into a massive, dynamic community of parents - now nearly three million strong - brought together by their shared belief that parenthood and marriage don’t have to be perfect.

Now, in Ask Me What’s for Dinner One More Time, Meredith shares her collection of witty essays on the universal frustrations of being a mom in today’s world, presenting her laugh-out-loud perspective on sex, aging, anxiety, friendship, and much more. Perfect for fans of Jenny Lawson, Laura Clery, and Jen Mann, these essays provide laughter, relief, validation, and "a metaphorical hug for all of those moments you spend crying on your bathroom floor, thinking that you are failing at the hardest job on the planet".

Lol For Real

This book had me laughing out loud for real! I found the content so very relatable. I laughed when I found that I would have the same thoughts at times. I also laughed when I found stories that I couldn't believe happened but that's motherhood for ya! I appriciated the real and raw stories as well. The waffle story from chapter 9 really reminded me of my own interactions with my oldest son who is only about 1 year older than Brian right now. while my oldest is not on the spectrum, he does have behavioural difficulties such as ODD. Honestly, I have my own difficulties to bring to the table as well. Motherhood is built on relationships. It is challenging, exhausing and amazing at the same time. I often feel like a failiure as a mother. However I can find ways remind myself that there are other moms out there facing similar challenges. Meredith does a great job of reminding me of that in this book. Thanks Meredith Masony for your words and support. I, in turn support you. Lots of Love!

Having Trouble Getting Over the F*** Word

I am an avid listener of Take it or Leave it, because I am a big Tiffany fan. I wanted to support Meredith’s book. I am having trouble hanging with it, though because I hate the f*** word. I enjoyed High Achiever, and it also had that word, but in Ask Me What’s for Dinner One More Time, is just seems SO excessive! I wish Meredith success. I want nothing but the best for her!

AMAZING!!!

This was absolutely spot on amazing!! Having Meredith read it made it feel like you were having a chat with a friend! I laughed, I cried, I laughed so hard at some things I cried.... a raw, open, vulnerable, HILARIOUS look at real life motherhood, beyond the filter. I had to stop listening a couple of times to call some girlfriends of mine because hearing these stories reminded me of memories. I couldn't stop myself from listening to it....listened to the whole thing in one day! A definite MUST LISTEN for a hot mess Mom!!!! Thank you Meredith....thank you for being you, and for letting us come along for the journey!

This book was amazing, I could relate to many of her parenting stories. If I wasn’t laughing hysterical I was crying happy tears or tears of reality. Honest truths about motherhood. I recommend this book for any mother, such encouraging, moving words. The book was read perfectly on point to her story shared beautifully!

She said that 🤣

I really enjoyed this book! To address the whiners for just a second. I really didn't find that the cussing bothered me (it cuts into the soul of how she feels in those moments and how I FEEL in these same situations) . Yes, she cusses, but it is in context and does have a purpose, so if an R rated movie bothers you maybe this book would. I would encourage you to press in to the CONTENT and look past the cuss words, as she has such a great message. The other inaccurate accusation was that all she does is complain about her family and her husband. She does not, she clearly states how much she loves them, cares about them and would want no other family- but she is honest and raw, and I appreciate that! We all love our families, but they can drive as crazy and to not address that would not be authentic and her book would have no point. I really think this book should be mandatory reading for premarital counseling so that couples can establish things before they get out of control, as I am SURE many marriages crumble from the seeds of bitterness. Every woman who has just had a baby needs to read this as well. And then again every few years. We add these bundles and don't change our expectations & load -yet wonder why we are dying inside. You're reaching your goals Meredith! I don't feel alone in my dark thoughts and I'll be sharing with my other mom friends 🥰
