Publisher's Summary

The future lies within our minds.

Paralyzed in a workplace accident, Lox's life is looking bleak. He can't even use the cutting-edge hardware that would allow him to play in the full-immersion-games that have become so popular. This all changes when he hears from New Universal Frontiers, the company with the best game out there: World of Magic.

They offer him the ability to use their hardware despite his injuries, but at a cost...he can never leave the game.

Once in the game world, Lox quickly realizes that there is a lot more to this new realm than just a game. Given a class that everyone thinks is useless due its inherent dangers, Lox begins a long and painful series of trials, some of them explosive, almost all of them dangerous as he masters his magical abilities.

As Lox explores the depths of this world's magic system, he soon discovers there is a lot more going on here than anyone ever expected.

World of Magic is a LitRPG/GameLit series that features leveling, advanced magic systems, dungeon crawling, world exploration, and much more. It's perfect for fans of books like Emerilia, World Tree, and Ascend Online.

Loved the story, but one part was annoying.

The story is great and well paced, the only part that was annoying was when the games windows about is soul abilities were being read again and again with nearly no difference between them for about 2 min each. It would have been better with just the important part highlighted.
I recommend this book for fantasy enthusiasts. Just skip the reoccurring description once you are there after the first time, you will know once you get there.

I have mixed feelings

Ok, I'm going to start with saying the Narrator was wonderful, and read a great story.

I think that the author must be new to this, or wrote this book over a very long period of time. The premise for the story was good, and the interpersonal interactions between characters believable. I like the litrpg aspects, even though the author tried to remove a lot of them half way through the story.

Now onto the negatives. There was a lot of contradictory material in this story. Things would be stated, then a chapter or 2 later completely forgotten or disregarded. This doesn't only happen once, it's perpetual. I don't know how this slipped through. If you're going to publish a book the publisher should employ editors and proof readers to find these discrepancies. I don't know how the narrator missed them either. This list of issues is so long it would dwarf my review by over 10 times if I listed them. I will be contacting Tantor Audio to complain about this and recommend they have an editor go over this book again, and think twice before publishing the Author's second book without heavy proof reading. Editors exist for a reason, so you don't release stuff full of holes and mistakes.

This story could have been so much better if someone just took the time to go through it for inconsistencies, contradictions, terminology changes within a few chapters, and many other things. Re-read your own book before you publish it!
