Publisher's Summary

Allie

When I moved to River’s Edge, dating was the last thing on my mind.
I definitely didn’t expect to fall for him.
Jesse Shepherd.
Popular. Star athlete. Cocky as hell.
You know the type.
But as time passed, I realized there was more lurking beneath that gorgeous exterior.
Secretive. Angry. A little bit broken.
The more I peeled back his layers, the deeper I fell.
Until I slammed headfirst into his sea of lies.

Jess

I blew my shot.
Pissed everything away - college, lacrosse, my future - only to end up right back where I started in River’s Edge.
I was content to revel in my misery, spending my days drowning in a bottomless pit of booze and girls.
Until I saw her.
Allison Parrish.
Beautiful. Sarcastic. Perpetual bad attitude.
The pretty little distraction from the shit show that was my life.
But the sins of my past were closing in on me, and I learned the hard way that nothing gold can stay.

Love these cocky men!

While Jesse might have been cocky but he was crazy sweet too! Once he fell for Allie, he was just done. I loved the sexual tension and the incredible chemistry between them. Miss Rose writes an amazing story! Aaron Shedlock and Rachel Butera were amazing as Jesse and Allie. Shedlock has this nice strong voice and it just worked hand in hand with Jesse. Butera was a fabulous Allie as well. She has a sweet but strong voice. I enjoyed listening to them both!

Terrible Female Narrator

I absolutely love this series and author. But this female narrator almost ruined it for me. I can normally get passed someone’s voice if I don’t immediately like them but she SUCKS at voicing Jess and other characters. She sounds like a child imitating someone they’re making fun of. She almost ruined this book for me.

Female narrator can’t do male voice and shallow story

The plot was kinda shallow, but it was entertaining enough. Not as good as the other books, maybe because of the female narrator. Her male voice sounds like the voice you would make when you are trying to imitate a douchebag. Really. Bad. Even the other females had awfully deep, unattractive voices. Good luck!

Male NARRATOR

Why don’t they keep the same narrators? I see rating about how they can’t with the female narrator ... Honestly, I can’t deal with the Male narrator.

Bad boy good girl romance

Really enjoyed this audiobook. Jessie and Allie are both sympathetic characters and their chemistry makes sense and feels real. There’s no cheating despite Jessie’s playboy rep. Allie is likable and admirable. Both have to overcome poor parenting. There’s some slow burn despite their attraction and I liked how it built up to sex after they had made a real connection and had a relationship. This is a new adult college story. Allie is in school and working at a bar managed by Jessie’s sister, who takes her in after Allie becomes homeless. Jessie then begins hanging around and pursues her. There are secrets on both sides, which lead to drama and angst. I really enjoyed the resolution and HEA. The narrators mostly did a great job, but I didn’t like how the female narrator did make voices. That’s the only thing I would change.

good read

I enjoyed the book my only complaint is the word deadpan is used entirely too much. Also, ministrations is not a sexy word lol.
