Publisher's Summary

When Brian Foley is charged with the murder of his next-door neighbour, the fastidious Arthur Cranham, it seems the case against the blustering showman is cut and dried: prints, DNA, CCTV footage - there can't be any doubt. After all - Brian and Arthur have famously been at war for years. But Jack and Sarah are convinced that the police have it wrong. With time running out, can they prove Brian's innocence and find the real killer?

Set in the sleepy English village of Cherringham, the detective series brings together an unlikely sleuthing duo: English web designer Sarah and American ex-cop Jack. Thrilling and deadly - but with a spot of tea - it's like Rosamunde Pilcher meets Inspector Barnaby.

Co-authors Neil Richards (based in the UK) and Matthew Costello (based in the US), have been writing together since the mid-90s, creating innovative content and working on major projects for the BBC, Disney Channel, Sony, ABC, Eidos, and Nintendo to name but a few. Their transatlantic collaboration has underpinned scores of TV drama scripts, computer games, radio shows, and the best-selling mystery series Cherringham. Their latest series project is called Mydworth Mysteries.

The narrator of the audiobook, Neil Dudgeon, has been in many British television programmes including the roles of 'DCI John Barnaby' in 'Midsomer Murders' and 'Jim Riley' in 'The Life of Riley'. He is also known for his film roles in 'The Nativity', 'Sorted' and 'Son of Rambow'. In 2012 Dudgeon starred as 'Norman Birkett' on BBC Radio 4's Afternoon Play series written by Caroline and David Stafford.

Pretty Good

Love this series but a bit disappointed in the ending on this one. Not the outcome but rather just how quickly it all came down. Typically there is one more chapter afterwards where they kind of bring it all together, have a dinner and talk. None of that. Ended way too quick. And the authors are no longer developing the relationship between Jack and Sarah. I liked when they used to put in a little spark between the two (stopped many books back, but I miss it). Anyways, narration was great as always and the story was entertaining enough.

Great narration

Anti climatic after all the buildup.
I anticipated more involvement in the character of the killer.

Fun to hear

Short mystery, directly to the point. I got another in this series, and I hope it’s as good as this one.

Super Fun

Short and Cozy. I love that you can purchase compilations of the stories. This is my first. Cherringham, but it won’t be my last.

Another fun mystery

I have enjoyed this series very much, including this latest. My only complaint is that they are not longer! Excellent writing and aeration, as always.

Super short for a credit

Just a dumb story. I wasted a credit on that. Super short. I’m trusting you can’t always trust the reviews. Take mine for what it is.

Not one of the best of Cherringham series.

The plot, how the crime was done, was predictable although the whodunnit not so much. Neil Dudgeon very enjoyable as always.

Love the usual characters, but as most said a need more involvement. Read all 45, rather listened to.

I want more of a story get into 8-10 novel. These are now too short for me.
