Publisher's Summary

I'm a rescuer. It's in my DNA. Stray dogs. Stray women... But this one doesn't need rescuing. She needs something real, but I never keep the ones I rescue. I could let her go...but I can't watch her walk away. I'm an ex-Navy SEAL, and I never give up on a mission.

Middle of the book

This book is an erotic romance with bdsm.

I felt like I started in the middle of the story line. I wish it would have given us the story from the moment they met.

Nolan is an ex navy seals and a dom. He always has his shields up and he learned to never let them down. Until he meets Lacey and she can see right through him. He wants to show her everything but soon he realizes he gave his heart right along with his body.

Lacey has not had the best of luck with guys, but when she finally gets her hands on Nolan she begins to see more than a hot guy. They begin a relationship that is not a relationship. As they both try to le go of the past they soon find a future within themselves.

LOVED IT

I loved both the characters of ex Seal & now a protector Noel & Lexy who wants Noel's protection but not realising after she goes to him & asks for it, she falls in love with him, then even what could make things worse he finds who she really is BEFORE she can tell him. What well become of the 2 of them.
AND a bonus was I really enjoyed both Tyler Donne & Alexandria Wylde's narration

Horrible female narrator

I have no idea if the story is good, but the audible version is horrible. Rye female narrator is awful, and I don’t love the male narrator.

The book ended to abruptly.

I think I just wanted a little bit more. It has this great build up between these two characters. She is running away from a past and he is too afraid to want a future. When both of them finally have the chance to have it all, the book ends way to abruptly. I like a happily ever after just like anyone else, but I like a little bit more depth.

Not my fave KR but a good listen

3.5 Crazy Ass Stars!!!

I'm back-tracking here and reading ,well, actually listening to, some of Kendall Ryan's previous books/series after reading a few of her more recent releases.

I enjoyed this. I was a little off put with the whole Nolan/Daniella situation. I didn't get that from the blurb and had I have expected that, I would not have skipped this series. Cheating, and this felt like cheating, is like my only hard limit. I have been known to push through books when I've come across it and that is just what I did with this. I was just too curious about all the secrets and I had to know how Lacy and Nolan's story played out.

Not my favorite Kendall Ryan book but it was a good read. I don't have any book regrets with this one.

Not My Favorite Kendall Ryan

This story sweetly shows a man falling for a woman. And although he's an ex-Navy Seal, there's really not too much alpha about him. He plays Dom to his roommate but only to help her. It's not his true nature and you see his personality bloom with Lacey as he falls in love. The bit of intrigue kicks up the action. Not a fan of the narrators, though overall this was a good listen.
