James Breakwell is keeping it real with this “unbook” about parenting. I found myself nodding along as it was easy to agree with his insights and conclusions about parenting. Recommended to parents and future parents alike!

Refreshing & amusing

As billed, an anecdote about being able to be an average parent is refreshing but the authors constant schtick grows very long in the teeth very quickly. Literally the end of every paragraph he insists on trying to include some would be funny line or innuendo - when in reality just saying what he needs to say would more than suffice. In my opinion it really degrades what he sets out to say.

In conclusion, it could be better.

I have young kids and constantly fear I’m not doing enough for them. This is a good book for relieving anxiety in a funny way, and ensuring that you feel confident as a parent, after every single chapter
