questioned but reasonable

there where parts I don't agree with but there is no reason as to why they couldnt be helpful to someone else. there are definitely elements ill go back to for review and reminder. it's a good "self help" for any person, no matter gender or affiliation.
there are spells and chants if that makes you uncomfortable but I recommend opening your mind to something different and see from a new perspective.

Absolute garbage

I’m not sure what I was expecting, but this book should just be called “how to be gothy but not in, like, a scary way.” Literally no substance at all. I have no idea who this book is for. It is full of “spells” (mostly thought experiments, really) but it’s constantly explaining how much the authors don’t believe in witchcraft or the occult. The first chapter is literally a how-to guide for goth fashion. It’s all in the name of empowerment, but it’s seriously defanged by the authors’ seeming to apologize for every line. I don’t even think this book would have taught me anything when I was fifteen. It’s short and I couldn’t even make it halfway through.

One word: cute. Know what you're in for.

This book is CUTE. From the concepts to the tone to the delivery, this book is just plain cute. This book is basically a self-care book shown through the lens of "modern witchcraft". This book has a slightly liberal and feminist slant, so if you have issues with those concepts then you may not like the author's opinions. If you are Christian then this book will show you there is nothing evil about "witchcraft" aka self-care rituals and you will see that you can adapt the ideas in this book to just about any religious belief.
All this book does is take basic wiccan and magik principals and apply them to a modern teenage girl's life. If you are not a young lady then this will absolutely not appeal to you. If you are already schooled in basic concepts of ritual magic and mindfulness then this will not give you any new info. If you are young and brand spankin' new to developing a spiritual practice then this book might appeal to you. It has some half-decent ideas for basic self-care rituals.

Not what I expected.

This is a self help book at best. It’s not a practical guide. If that’s what you’re looking for, this ain’t it...
