Story
In Battlefield Ukraine, all the usual suspects are hard at work: battles over resources, money, and miscommunication. This predictive novel explores a potential war between NATO and Russia over the fate of the separatist regions in eastern Ukraine. Lines have been drawn in the sand, but how firm are they? Will the massive disinformation campaign by the Russians trick the new American administration to do their bidding? Will the new American president back down, or will the world creep one step closer toward global war?

Terrible.
I purchased after reading the gushing reviews. Personally, I couldn’t stand this book. Predictable plot, one dimensional characters, lots of cheesy cliches and lingo. I eventually had to stop - something I’ve never done before. Listener consider yourself warned.

Flashpoint That never was, but could have been
Battlefield China is a nice tidy end to a grueling global conflict. I am sure every GI has brainstormed and thought of possible scenarios where we go to war with the the Chicoms. But here, this story actually had a conclusion to the conflict which seems reasonable and didn't end with the world getting nuked into the stone age. I am sure opinions vary on how it could have ended, I am glad it did have a conclusion.
The added benefit of the story is how Mr Rosone and Mrs Watson both gave us very human characters who did not have rosy endings at wars end. This goes to show they know vets and as I understand James Rosone served in the Army. The realism and the bitter pill of post conflict is very real. As a vet, I struggle with that missing purpose since I was medically retired.
My only issue is that I would have wanted to see the glimpse of the Chinese as well as Russian personalities on how they made out.
Still great story that could have easily been a mirror of our current world.

Very Entertaining Series!
I must first say, I was not very happy with the way this series began, but I could not stop reading it. With all the twists and turns in this series, I had to go on to the next book.
The way this series is written, put’s the reader right there on the front lines. The devastation and counter strikes were riveting. It makes the reader understand what war really is. MADNESS!
A fantastic series. I highly recommending to readers of “What If” type books.

Modern Twist on World War II Sequence of Events
I listened to the whole series. Battlefield Ukraine took forever to get going but at least it seemed to have an original timeline of events. As the series wore on, and it wears thin after a while, it borrowed heavily, and then VERY HEAVILY, from the events of World War II and the Korean War. Frankly, I got sick of it. China is Nazi Germany. Russia is a mix of Imperial Japan and Italy.
The battles get repetitive. You can only have the enemy give up when it is on the brink of overwhelming the good guys so many times before it becomes predictable and boring.
The authors seemed to like to laugh at historical maxims.
- Don't invade Russia in winter.
- Don't get involved in a land war in Asia - especially against China, let alone India and then China.
- Yes, the U.S. does all of that and succeeds fairly easily. Ridiculously improbable - especially when the U.S. is supposed to be weak and unable to get mobilized rapidly enough to face all of its enemies.
What began as an okay, original story degenerated into a boring, repetitive, unimaginative story that I was happy to finish with.

Eye Opening World War III Series
Just finished entire series and I'm happy it's fiction, although presented in a believable manner. It shifts between closeup on personalities to big picture. My only complaint is the narrators. The first was just okay and midway through a new less than okay narrator took over. I just cringed my way through the peridic terrible vocal acting, My focus was on the storyline, which was well written.
