Story
In Battlefield Ukraine, all the usual suspects are hard at work: battles over resources, money, and miscommunication. This predictive novel explores a potential war between NATO and Russia over the fate of the separatist regions in eastern Ukraine. Lines have been drawn in the sand, but how firm are they? Will the massive disinformation campaign by the Russians trick the new American administration to do their bidding? Will the new American president back down, or will the world creep one step closer toward global war?

Story
Team Yankee, the New York Times best-seller by Harold Coyle, presents a glimpse of what it would have been like for the soldiers who would have had to meet the relentless onslaught of Soviet and Warsaw Pact divisions. Using the geo-political and military scenarios described by General Sir John Hackett, former NORTHAG commander and author of World War Three; August 1985, Team Yankee follows the war as seen from the turret of Captain Sean Bannon's tank.

Publisher's Summary
Battlefield Korea picks up in the middle of a brewing global conflict, as the Chinese look to capitalize on Russian intervention in the Ukrainian civil war. The surprise attack there has NATO in chaos, false headlines barrage the Internet, and the war in Ukraine seems all but lost. Will this distraction keep America from intervening in Asia?
When the Chinese begin to provide the North Korean regime with additional fuel, hard currency, and weapons, will America still be able to honor its treaty obligations in Asia? Or will the US have to concede the new reality of Greater China and a unified, nuclear-armed Korean peninsula?
Find out in this gripping sequel in the Red Storm Series.

Mostly good.. except when it isn't
Anyone who has made a study of or was in the combat arms will see the mistakes right off the bat. I guess that is what happens when pretty good writers focus more on the storyline than the all myriad details. However, the mistakes are generally minimal such as officers referring to combat soldiers as "soldiers" rather than "troops". The first is considered more formal while the latter is colloquial. There are a lot of others too which could have been helped by hiring a combat veteran Army or Marine officer to share in the editing. (Being a contractor in Iraq is not the same as being a combat trooper or Marine.) Also, the term for single pieces of amunition is more often referred to as "rounds" not "bullets".
The storyline has merit although the Trumpesque American President seems to be better able to sway the Democrats than the real-world Trump. Even in the make believe world of fiction, that is giving too much credit to the Socialist/Communist Democrat Party of today. Although the storyline allows for the arrest of several traitorous Democrat Congressmen and a RINO Republican, the writers didn't go far enough. It would be more believable if the traitorous Democrats would have been be frog-marched out of the Capitol Building by the busload.
Lastly, the voice actor should have been clued in that "V Corp" means "5th Corp." They use Roman numerals to identify the various US Army Corps.

Just one beef
Good story but I'm really not thrilled that you have to buy the whole series if you want to find out the end. Just another way to milk extra money by extending the series through a bunch of books.

Picking up steam nicely!
In this second book of the series, the action moves quickly between different operational areas and follows a number of individuals. The writing is good, the story solid, and the narration excellent. Characters are well developed over the course of the book and there are only a few “wait, what” moments - but well within the plausible given the broad scope of the story. It was nice to occasionally be provided glimpses into the ongoing events that were detailed (and left hanging) in the first book of the series and the authors throw enough info into the descriptions throughout this book to allow the reader to dovetail the different events/activities into a coherent overall timeline. I also appreciated the more “conclusive” ending of this book which - although the story is by no means over - still manages to end at a reasonable “break” point unlike the first book that simply stops. I’m looking forward to the next book in the (so-far) 5-book series.

Good storyline and hints of Tom Clancy and Larry Bond
I know it’s not a Clancy techno-thriller but there were a couple of extremely cringeworthy technical mistakes in this book for anyone who is halfway familiar with anything having to do with firearms. 50mm sniper rifle!? Come on. It takes a 2 second google search to get the terminology correct. Looking beyond that, in my opinion, this series is definitely one of the better “Modern day WW3” series other than anything Tom Clancy. So far this series is very Clancy-like in that there are multiple characters, locations and stories all going on at the same time.

well written with nonstop action.
Pretty knowledgable with most of the weapon systems. As a retired Army NCO I think it does a pretty good job. I believe that some of the scenarios are a little short when it comes to US capabilities but then that makes the story a little more interesting.

Hardcore Geopolitics
The geopolitics of a coordinated war by Russia and China against the United States is fascinating. Those with a history of naval service, however, will find the author's depiction of modern sea combat disappointing.
