Publisher's Summary

If the Pacific falls to the Chinese, they will be one step closer to dominating all of Asia.

A line has been drawn in the sand - if there is any hope of stemming Operation Red Storm, the Philippines cannot be conquered. Will the Allies be able to hold their ground in this intense sea battle?

Reeling from the loss of two aircraft carriers, the US is forced to move its carriers from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific. Will additional ships from the Atlantic Fleet and the new railguns on the Zumwalt-class destroyers be enough to overcome the drone and cruise missile swarms of the Chinese navy? Or will the sheer numbers of incoming munitions simply overtake the Allied forces?

Battlefield Pacific is the highly anticipated fourth book in the Red Storm geopolitical military thriller series. If you like pulse-pounding combat scenes, rich characters, and unpredictable twist and turns, you’ll love James Rosone and Miranda Watson’s newest addition to the series.

Uncover some of the deeper threads that have been woven in Russia and China’s master plot. With the addition of India and Indonesia to their alliance, will the democracies of the West be able to stand against the dictatorial regimes of the East? Grab your copy of Battlefield Pacific to join the action and find out.

Changing the narrator on book 4 is never good

Night and day between the two narrators. This guy just isn't a good fit for military fiction. Enjoyed the story a ton to this point. Maybe I'll try the written version but I doubt it. Definitely will be trading in books 1-3 as I no longer have interest in the story as a whole.

Guide for narrators - just read the book

I've enjoyed the first books in the series and they were well narrated. B.J. Harrison has done the last books and I'm not even sure I want to listen to them.. I don't understand why readers insist on "spicing things up" with various terrible accents. Terrible southern accents, even worse Chinese and Russian accents are like fingernails on a chalk board.

Listening to a Chinese general using a non-accented English voice is far better than listening to a terrible attempt at a Chinese accent. I'll probably finish the series but Harrison has joined the list of readers that I won't listen to.

The new narrator ruins the series

First of al I rely liked the series and the story. And was looking forward to listening to this book.

But the new narrator ruins the experience. The narrator does not understand pacing and build up but switches between normal and almost comicaly over the top. No slow build up of tension just over the top excitement that doesn't sound like real dialogue. The previous narrator did a lot better job of conveying the carracters in a believable fashion. Now al the carracters are caricatures over the top, the senior officers al sound like old men with dentures, the president's advisors suddenly have over the top dialects and the foreign accents the narrator puts on span from crocodile dundie wannabes to borderline racist. Every time he put on a over the top Chinese accent I contemplate of the story is good enough to push on through.

The narrator is not even constant in his own characters.

The story is good and you can hint the good characters behind the awful narration.

Not a bad book, but laughable subplots3

the book overall was good, but the whole antifa subplot was laughable to the point of ridiculous right wing fringe propaganda. same goes for the idea of techno communism.

the author has a middle school understanding of such things and it shows. still, I was entertained, so 3 stars.

narrator was good, with some glaring mispronounced terms.

Yes, fiction can contain mistakes

This could have been a good book/series, except for those pesky mistakes.

I don't have the written book so I can't tell for certain if the errors are the fault of the narrator or author. For example, early in the story, the narrator mentions "anti-personal mine". That's so obviously wrong to anyone who reads military novels. It is an "anti-personnel" mine.. In another section, a "Zumwalt" destroyer is pronounced "zoom-walt". Again wrong. The first part is "zum", rhymes with "gum". Then, the narrator pronounces the name "Sig Sauer" (pistol) as "Sig Sawyer", like Tom Sawyer. No, no, no, it sounds like "sour", not "sawyer". One last point. I don't know why authors need to mangle military ranks in their dialog. Why didn't the author just ask a soldier? You can find them easily. In combat and less formal settings, a Sargent, is a Sargent, is a Sargent. You don't go around saying, "First Sargent Smith, or Staff Sargent Smith." It is just Sargent Smith. It is not First Lieutenant Smith or Second Lieutenant Smith. It is just Lieutenant Smith.
I like a good military story, but terminology needs to be accurate or it ruins the feel. The narrator either needs to research the subject, or give up reading military novels.

Wow, just wow.

Great story excellently told. There were quite a few moments when I thought about turning it off as the story not only kept me gripped but illicited no little anxiety regarding the outcome. I can't wait for the next installment.

Intense

After four books, I'm totally absorbed in war from all sides. The plotting, planning, destruction, and bleeding is mind bending. A fascinating look at what could be if politicians make decisions that result in a world war. High stakes actions emerge with deadly impacts. Glad it is just fiction so far. Two books to go. Can't wait.
