Publisher's Summary
The fate of Taiwan hangs in the balance. If it falls to the Chinese, they will be one step closer to dominating all of Asia. Japan, Thailand, the Philippines - no one is safe from their hostile takeover. While North Korea no longer poses a significant threat, the incursions there have greatly weakened the United States military force. Will the President's draft and retooling of the economy move swiftly enough to make a victory possible? Or will America's resources be stretched so thin that Europe and Asia will both be lost?
Uncover some of the deeper threads that have been woven in Russia and China's master plot. Will they be able to pull India into their web? Will China's new techno-communism become the new world order? Or will the United States find a way to reunite a fractured Europe and break free of the relentless attacks?

Not thrilled
Read the series to get to this book. No understanding of China, what drives her militarily, what the people think, what the leaders might do. Early in the series China dumps their holdings of US Treasuries - no economic repercussions. And as far as Taiwan and her defense is concerned, he should have consulted somebody - freakin weak.
Completely implausible at every turn. Sorry

Drivel to sleep to
Imaginative. But author has no knowledge of international relations or history or war. Worked ok as drivel to put me to sleep.

Entertaining
Looking forward to the rest of the series. A quick easy listen. Waiting ro see if things get so desperate that they recommission battleships or other museum ships.

great series
Great Series so far I really enjoy it. I would highly recommend reading it if you really like suspense from the low ranking all the way to the president.

(Another) Dishonorable Ending.
The Good: WWIII trilogy done very well (I say trilogy, because books 4-6 aren’t narrated by Joel Richards. Unfortunately, they’re unlistenable.); great battle scenes; geopolitical tensions are realistic; military strategies and tactics are authentic; descriptions of weaponry is factual; narration is superb.
The Bad: Each of the first three books end abruptly in the middle of a sentence (literally). Worse, these endings occur at the climax of a definitive battle.
I strongly dislike having to spend 1 credit for 1/3rd of a story. If “Battlefield” was a trilogy, narrated solely by Joel Richardson, it would be worthy of 5-stars.

An excellent novel about WW III
For any fans of Tom Clancys "Red Storm Rising", this is an excellent and exciting novel about a theoretical WW3. Very intense and well balanced between action and the political situation.
There seems to be some discontent between some listeners who weren't fans of the former 45th president. Don't let your bias prevent you from enjoying this.
I highly recommend this for any and all Service Members, the book does an excellent job of getting the tactical side ( definitely no 100% or even 90, but it does the military justice).
