I turned to this book because I love books about historic hotels. When I picked it up, I didn’t remember the grim history I already knew about it… then thought, ah, yes, that hotel. Glad I read it, and it was well written, but there was little here to lift my spirits. There were few heart warming stories amongst the sad realities of those who spent time here.
