When a plane crashes into the Antarctic ice, exposing a massive cave beneath, a rescue and research team is dispatched. Twenty-four hours later, all contact is lost. Captain Alex Hunter and his highly trained squad of commandos are fast tracked to the hot zone to find out what went wrong - and to follow up the detection of a vast underground reservoir. Had hopes for something "more", a breakout thriller along the lines of The Breach, but it was more a dollar-store Joe Ledger. Not terrible, but not good; it's OK!

Beck manages to create new horror inspired by some of nature’s genuinely terrible creatures. The best horror stories posses enough truth to hide the fantastic.

Greig Beck is an adept writer who applies well-thought-out research, good character and plot build to this book. I give it a three-star rating since the story is interesting but not one that captivated me. The same goes for Sean Mangan, a decent narrator but not one that I would especially seek out in the future.

book was moderately entertaining, however the narrator was terribly boring and honestly kept putting me to sleep......
