Loved the narrative. This was a somewhat gothic novel. The characters were believable and the story was enjoyable.

I was glued to every page
This book slowly crescendos
I ate up every page & was captivated that there were no voids, when you feel you are walking in the footsteps of each created character your not merely a reader you are drawn in you are the main character…

Great book!
Thought I’d take the time to write a full review as there isn’t one yet. Love the cadence and tone of the narrator (she read in Lost Apothecary as well and was fantastic). There was enough suspense/suspicion to keep my interested the entire time. Slow steady buildup with lots of character building. I totally felt like I was there at the cottage interacting with everyone. I would definitely listen to this one again.

Kept Me Listening
This was a nice book to listen to during the winter time, seeing as it takes place in the winter. It kept me wondering if it was a ghost story or not. I always listen to an audiobook to help me fall asleep and a lot of them I can’t get into, so they just turn into background noise. Beneath the Shadows kept me engaged.

Definitely 5 stars in every category !
This is one of the best stories I've ever listened to. The plot kept me guessing the entire time. And I absolutely loved the narration. The accents were spot-on. I caught myself sitting in my car a little longer listening to the ends of chapters. This is definitely one of the best narrated stories I've ever listened to, definitely one of the best plots . I will be finding more books written by this author and that are narrated by this narrator. Don't hesitate , just get this book! It's one of the best out there!
