Publisher's Summary

From NYT and USA Today best-selling author A.L. Jackson comes a friends-to-lovers romance about an unattainable rock star and his best friend’s younger sister....

Maggie Fitzgerald is the last girl I should think about taking to my bed.

On the cusp of turning 21, she has her whole life waiting out ahead of her - sexy AF, while still radiating an innocence that I know better than to taint. And here I am, itching to reach out and touch a girl who is so forbidden that just thinking about her feels like committing a mortal sin. Thing is I love playing with fire.

Rhys Manning is everything I shouldn’t want. Country-rock’s newest superstar. Fun. Wild. Ready to show the world a good time. He’s so off-limits - it isn’t even funny. So out of reach he might as well be a poster tacked on my wall. Too bad every time he looks at me, my heart races out of control. Now, I’m stuck living with him for the entire summer.

We’re only supposed to be friends. Still, I should have known it was a terrible idea when I started sneaking into his room. Especially when it’s clear he’s keeping secrets. Secrets that might destroy us both.

One touch, and I want more.

One kiss, and I’m spiraling out of control.

I know it’s reckless to start dancing in the flames. But in exchange for getting to spend one night with this brooding bad boy? I might be willing to get burned....

Rockstars or Vigilantes? Pick a lane!

Ughhhhh.... I’ve read several A.L. Jackson books... some I’ve loved, some not so much. This was a miss for me. It’s not that it’s bad, it’s just too melodramatic for my taste.
It irks me to no end when characters spend years and years torturing themselves over an issue that probably could have been resolved with about 6 weeks of therapy. I mean, these guys are loaded rockstars, they can afford the co-pays!

Amazing

OMG how amazing! I really did not know how Amy was going to write Rhys's story after the end of Falling into You. I don't know why I questioned it. Beneath the Stars was so amazing. Maggie comes off as the broken one but deep down she really is the strongest after all she has been through. She uses her strength to help Rhys's fix 'his broken', a broken that he hides from the majority of the world. Maggie sees through the fun loving, joke cracking stallion that Rhys lets the world see, someone only those he grew up with really know. The chemistry between Rhys and Maggie is explosive. It doesn't take much for them both to realize their is no putting out their fire. Another 5 star book!!

Exciting and Beautiful ❤️

This story was my favorite of the series. Andi is always amazing how she draws you in with every word and soothes you at the same time. Zachary, what can I say he truly brought Reese’s character to life. His voice and tone makes you fall in love over and over. Needless to say I truly enjoyed this book!!!!

Amazingly read.

Definitely worth a listen. Zachary Webber alone is amazing but together he and Andy Arndt are phenomenal.

Amazing

I have loved this series but Rhys and Maggie gave us such a deep connection. Rhys feeling unworthy of love and haunted by his past and Maggie struggling with her own past but were the perfect calm for each other. A.L. Jackson has such a talent with how her words flow so beautifully throughout the story

Great Read

This is book 4 of the Falling Stars series. I have already read book 3, but will not be going to read 1 and 2 with a re-read of 3 and 4.

You can't help falling in love with Rhys and Maggie, two wounded hearts/souls who seem to be brought together. Will they allow the other to help them heal?

Wonderful story.

Pleasantly surprised.

Zachary Webber made this a smokin’ hot and super fun listen. He carries the 5 star performance rating.

I’d grade the story a B-. Tension between the two characters was well built and the payoff was satisfying. The secondary storyline, like in most of these type of books, was forced and a had an overdramatic clumsiness. The repetitive use of “spirit” and repeat of other descriptions reflected writer-laziness and shallow story-telling motive.

Andi Ardnt seemed to read the story through her sinuses and I couldn’t shake the fact that she sounded like she was in her 50s and wearing crocks and a moo-moo. Which is all well and good, no judgement zone to ladies in their 50s who find comfort in that kind of attire. (I prefer giant stupid t-shirts and socks with holes, so what do I know.)
But sounding 50 when reading for a 20 year old character makes the reader do a lot of work to keep in the moment.

I listen to audio books sometimes while I’m working and this one made me put my work down and pulled me right in- which has never happened. And I’m convinced that is 85 percent thanks to Zachary Webber’s performance.

The best yet!

Spoiler alert***

This has to be my favorite book of the series!
To see Maggie get a happy ending after the things she has been through just really melts my heart, but also to find her a guy that is totally her equal and he needs the peace she can give.. this book I just can’t say enough nice stuff.. just well suited for each other. It’s not a over blow situation, and you could see how both would have issues and just finding the right person sometimes makes all the difference and this is for sure the case with these two.

Yes, please

This book sizzles all throughout. The chemistry created in the emotional connections and the way the past is brought in piece by agonizing piece is so explosive. The only small note I have that made the performance less than what it could be is that the child Daisy was either written or performed as if the writer had no idea how a child of 5/6 years talks. The random verbs with an extra “s” at the end was so unrealistic and a bit insulting to the ear... that was the only thing that took me out of the story. The rest was fantastic.

Ps - minor nuisance that Rhyse and Royce were only one vowel sound away from being the same name.
