Between the Shadows

Time travel at its finest! This book is the 3rd in the Lake Lanier Mysteries series. While it can be enjoyed as a stand alone, it is definitely more mind blowing when the books are read/listened to in order.

The present day mystery of the ghost of the lake has prompted a time jump to over 160 years in the past. Saving one person could lead to sacrificing another and possibly changing the future (present) as it is known.

Casi McLean has woven a very detailed tale. The twists and turn kept me guessing and the mind blowing reveal at the end was awesome!

The narration by Kristin James was very enjoyable. Great timing, emotion and differing voices. I would not hesitate to listen to more of her performances.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Loved it

I loved this book. Time travel romance is one of my favourite genres so I couldn't wait to jump into this story.
I probably should have started at book one to get a complete picture and full enjoyment but this book can easily be listened to as a standalone.
The narration was very good and made very easy listening. The characters were performed excellently.
The story line was different and intriguing. I couldn't wait to see what happened next and I wanted to listen to the story in one sitting.

This was a very good, entertaining listen and I will be checking out the earlier books in the series.

Fascinating from the very start

Wow what an interesting book this is. I love time travel and this was better then most. Not reading/listening to the first two did make it a tad confusing in the beginning so if you are in to time travel I would pick up at least the first one as I have no doubt you will be back for this one. For example it took me half the book to figure out if York was from the past or the future, it didn’t matter which it was as it makes no difference in the book I am just one of those readers who wants all the answers. Anyway. I loved the storyline, I can’t wait to get the first two books and meet Sandy and to find out York’s story. The ending was PERFECT! Definitely recommend

Great Book

This book is a awesome roller coaster through time. I absolutely love the time travel box. I feel like there is not enough out there. This take on time travel is very unique to anything that I’ve ever read before. The author weaves a tale where it is seamless and you don’t have an issue following the different timelines. You really feel like you are in each time zone. Your work is probably one of my favorite main characters and McKenzie are just amazing.

This is the first book that I’ve heard Kristen James narrator and I think she did an absolutely phenomenal job. There were characters in the book that had different accents and to me they did not sound fake at all. Her pace and tone overall it was very consistent which for me is important because a narrator can really make or break and audiobook and I had no issue listening to her at all.

The production of the audiobook is the way they sound was really consistent. There was no back noise from what I could hear.
I received this audiobook as part of my participation in a blog tour with Audiobookworm Promotions. The tour is being sponsored by Casi McLean. The gifting of this audiobook did not affect my opinion of it.

A really good listen

I enjoyed listening to this story. I have not read or listened to this author before but I would love to read or listen to her other books. I liked the plot and feel that it moved along at a steady pace. There were things I questioned but not so much that it took away from the story at all. I liked how everything comes together and thought it was a great story. I liked the characters and their love interests. I thought they were matched up pretty well. I enjoyed listening to the narrator as well. She had a an easy and pleasant voice to listen to. She read at a good pace and was easy to understand. I would definitely listen to another books she reads. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys romance, time travel, and a overall great story.

New author to me

I was unsure where the storyline was going but I continued on in the audiobook to see. I'm glad I did as it did pick up and got interesting, then the action came. It was exciting to listen to how they went back and forth in time and problem solved. plus the old fashioned love, they have the feelings but they didn't just jump into bed. I fell in love with York immediately and absolutely loved his letter at the end (this way I don't give anything away)

Great Time Travel Romance

York’s day started with a normal walk with his dog around the lake. It ended with finding a girl wrapped in a blue mist. Rather than being afraid, York jumps on the opportunity to help the young women, becoming more intrigued when he finds out the girl is from over a century ago. Kenzie, faced with the deteriorating condition of her grandmother, is approached by York with a quest.

I haven’t read very many time travel romances, but this was an interesting story. It was fast-paced, and there were many subplots to keep the story engaging. This was my first story by Miss McLean, but it was very engaging. This is the type of story that you can get lost in for hours.

The narrator did a great job.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Action-packed Time-Travel Romance!

This book had so many things I love: paranormal elements, history, romance, and a fascinating, mystical setting that serves as a character in and of itself. Oh, and tie-ins from the previous books in the series, as this is Book 3...so while it can be read as a stand-alone, readers will appreciate more plot details, character references, and intricate connections if the books are read in order. The action is non-stop, with two stories taking place simultaneously, each affecting the other and possibly the outcome of history. Everything comes together perfectly in the end, with more than a few "ah-ha!" moments, and while I want to avoid specific spoilers, destinies are fulfilled.

Fascinating Listen!

Between the Shadows by Case McLean pulled me in from the very beginning. The premise of traveling in time is intriguing. This book has many twists and turns, which I love. Kenzi, James and York were characters that pulled me in. Kristin James was awesome in her performance. She added the right emotions and inflections to her voice, The ending of the book was incredible! I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntary written this review, I will definitely listen to more books by this author and narrator.
