Story wasnt bad. The kid was obnoxious.
It wasnt to bad, pretty original story actually. The hardest part was trying to ignore her whiney, clumsy teenage son. Wish the author had paired her with a stronger character

audio effects very distracting
I had no idea what was going on. It was incredibly distracting with the audio having what I can only assume was a strange filter which doesn't allow you to hear what the characters are saying a lot of the time.

Original story with a great cast & supporting sfx
What a surprise, the performance was great, story was original and the supporting audio created atmosphere and depth not usually found in a podcast performance, all and all I rather enjoyed it.

it was ok
This was hard to follow. I found the story line to be very scattered. Will not recommend to my reading group.

Loved it
An amazing story that kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. The way they did it felt like being there instead of hearing about it, very immersive!
The only issue I had was during the beginning part of episode 8. I was out mowing so I had my headphones turned up loud cause of the mower an there was a sound effect that hurt my ears a little.
I would definitely like to hear more of their stuff, they remind me of "Soundbooth Theater" who is one of my favorite narrators. BTW those sound echoes that other reviewer mentioned are way cool!!! More please

Sound is terrible not artsy
So I want to say that I do enjoy the stories. I think they're interesting. But whatever you're doing with the sound echoes is just horrendous. It's not artistic.

AMAZING
Loved it!! The story, sounds, acting, and music were perfect. I couldn't help but imagine it as a video game too, I think it would translate well to that medium. Overall, I highly recommend this :)

Predictable
It was like a movie that relies heavily on special effects because of a weak storyline and predictable plot. Audible Studios tried hard to provide the special effects, but overall it was like having a salad without dressing accompanied by a glass of tepid tap water.

just okay
Semi interesting story. I usually like the full cast productions but this one was way over the top. The sound effects were very distracting and very loud. it obscured the narration quite a few times.

audio is unintelligible
I can't understand 95% of what is being said. The audio quality is horrible. I downloaded all 12 episodes to listen to at work. I went thru every episode & discovered that they were ALL tge same poor quality. I was really looking forward to listening to these stories too. It's a shame. if the issue csn be fixed, I'd definitely give it another chance.

Not a fan of it.
I'll start with some positives:
- The world building was good. And I did like how the characters were connected (even if they don't into the details of how exactly they're connected).
- I'll also give the narrators credit for performing what's essentially a radio drama. Even though it was really hard to imagine what was going on (this probably should have been a graphic novel) I can imagine acting this out was a challenge.
- I did like the music. Sounded a bit like Doctor Who.
But I had lots of other issues.
- The sound was all over the place and I would constantly lower or raise the volume. Then the sound effects would be too loud but the dialogue too low.
- Sometimes the characters would sound like they were in an echoed room or in a tape recorded, but for no good reason.
- Some action scenes dragged on too long. It would just be noise and like I said I couldn't imagine what was going on.
- Fiona would sometimes get on my nerves. Pushing down her feelings. And I know she's a mom worried about her son, but it got receptive to hear her constantly protect Ethan. She also sounded too young to be Ethan's mother.
- One sideline plot (the toads) was total filler. I didn't like that story and at first was holding off judgment to see if it connected to the overall plot. It doesn't, so it was a waste of time.
The negatives outweigh the positives so I'm giving this 2 out of 5 Tape Recorders.

Aliens?
This was an interesting listen, first I thought it was going to be about ghost then aliens and then it went to this whole thing.
I somewhat enjoyed it but stories like this I never really have been a fan of. Its this a creature from another world invading. And then they did beat it but not really.
The performance was good, I listen to this in my ear which is recommended. The story was also good but just not what I like, and at times it felt like it was to much. I couldn't seperate my bias on stories like this from the overall story. I did give it an overall 3 because I did hear all of it and a 5 in performance and story. So I didn't like the subject matter but it was well performed and the story was ok.
