Satisfied

The soothing voice of the reader is calming and makes the experience of every word more resonant. I have a hard copy of this book but never had the time to sit and read it, so many books 📚 I’ve caught up including this one, with thanks to Audible.

Only wish for better audio quality

4 stars overall only because the audio quality was not very good. It was difficult to hear even at the loudest setting. It sounded muffled.

5 stars for the actual audiobook & narration. I will listen again. Thank you.

I'm in love with this marvelous work if art

I just finished the Bhagavad Gita and I am in love with our Great Creator, the Alpha and Omega. And I'm in love with whatever great soul first wrote this magnificent poem, Veda-Vyasa. And I'm so grateful that I listened to The Great Minds of Eastern Philosophy and was introduced to this marvelous work of art. Now I understand why so many great thinkers have been attracted to this text. I keep a hard copy on my nightstand and know I will be reading and re-reading it often as yet another directional guide on my path. ✨💓

I am Review, shatterer of words

"I am death, shatterer of worlds,
annialating all things" (11.32).
- Bhagavad Gita, tr Stephen Mitchell

I’ll review later as it sinks deeper in.
I need some time to chew on it.
And, yes, perhaps just let go and
let the book be --
what it already is.

Pronunciation

I was really looking forward to listening to this, but I had to stop at some point, after Naraada, Sheeva, and Kreeshna.

Could narrators please learn to first pronounce names correctly?

Great translation

The Gita is one of those sacred books I have thought about reading many times but never gotten to it; until now. And it is as great as I hoped it was. Krishna's unshakable presence and wise words stayed with me long after finishing it. Thank you, Stephen Mitchell for a great translation of this gem.
