Publisher's Summary

Deimos was planning to spend a quiet Christmas this year. You know, just a regular night in, cleaning his guns and getting wasted. He definitely did not plan on getting dropped with a parachute behind enemy lines, getting tasked with retrieving something round and weird, and rescuing young ladies from enemy encampments.

A Deimos Çelik story.

A short game

This short story is written well enough; it just seems to be lacking a point, other than having the reader follow along with a gamer who is in-game at the time the story takes place. It did however succeed in holding my interest.

GameLit humor

Big, Round Snowballs: A GameLit Story(A Deimos Çelik Story) by George Saoulidis and narrated by Steve White is a playful short story. If you’re a gamer, you’ll better appreciate this one.

Deimos is a merc on a top secret mission, he ends up bringing back more than he bargained for. The story was more humorous than expected. I wish there had been some added sound effects- that would have really made this book stand out and potentially added to the humor.

The narrator, Steve White, did a good job. My only complaint is the female voice- just didn’t work for me. Otherwise I enjoyed Deimos voice and pacing of the story.

Parental guidance/trigger warnings: swearing, violence, mention of gang rape/defiling (didn’t happen).

A quick listen like a quick short game

The other two shorts I just listened to by the same author were very well written and narrated and quite entertaining. I therefore cannot give this one the same five stars I gave for them. It just had unnecessary language in it making it inappropriate to listen to with the kiddos. And just didn’t provide the same level of connection to the character and storyline that the other two shorts did....it’s like a quick little gaming session.
