The Alt Apocalypse is the ground-breaking, genre-bending series from Tom Abrahams. It explores survival under the most extreme circumstances, but with a twist (and no cliff-hangers). This series, which can be listened to in any order, features the same core characters in each complete story. But every book dunks them into a new, alternate apocalypse; a nuclear holocaust, an earthquake, a flood, a wildfire, a hurricane, a plague, and even zombies.

Publisher's Summary
The death of the US dollar will mark the end of the world as we know it!
Shane Black is trapped in New York, and vicious protesters are burning the city to the ground. He has no gun, no way out, and he’s 1,000 miles from home.
America’s financial doomsday. A wayward son. The epic struggle to survive.
Country music icon Shane Black is this year’s headliner for the New Year’s Eve bash in Times Square, but when violent riots break out, he’ll need more than a six string to escape the maelstrom.
After decades of abuse as the world’s reserve currency, the US dollar’s day of reckoning is at hand. Without a functioning monetary system to purchase basic goods, society rapidly descends into abject chaos. Protests, looting, and bloodletting take the place of civility in a country which is coming unhinged.
Thrust into an apocalyptic gauntlet of terror, Shane must resort to savage brutality to get out of Manhattan alive.
Could the impending currency collapse be the broken road that leads him home?
Shane left everyone and everything he knew to chase the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. He found fortune and fame but can’t forgive himself for abandoning his hometown sweetheart, Julianna. She moved on years ago, but when Julianna shares a secret with Shane, it changes his life forever.
The coming economic meltdown will bring America to her knees.
The impending pension crisis proves to be the catalyst which pushes the US economy to the brink. With no other tools at their disposal, the Federal Government is forced to print an unprecedented amount of new currency. Faith in the dollar erodes, and the dominos start falling.
Don’t miss this chilling glimpse into America’s future. Listen to Black Swan, a pulse-pounding tale of redemption and survival, today!
As with all works by Mark Goodwin, this book contains no profanity and no embarrassing sex scenes. However, if you're offended by conservative principles and references to scripture, this book might not be for you.

well written
As always Kevin Pierce did an excellent job. There were some negative reviews talking about the religious aspect of the book and the political right. I guess I would say that there are biblical references in this book but in no way is it a sermon. The lead character, along with some of his friends and family are portrayed as church going Americans but there are other "good guy" characters that are not. There are some biblical quotes at the beginning of some chapters, along with quotes from other people in history that are not biblical. As far as the "right wing propaganda" reviews go, the story does a great job of placing blame at the feet of all of the politicians regardless of party. If you are a ultra sensitive anti-Christian where the very mention of the Bible makes you shrink into your 'safe space' like a vampire right before sunrise, then this book probably isn't for you. But if you want to read/listen to a very well written post-apocalyptic fiction book that flows well with a lot of twist and turns, this would be well worth your credit. I would put this right up with One Second/Year After and the Going Home series. The character development was phenomenal.

Another fantastic series!
I've read(listened) to almost all of Mark Goodwin's series of novels, and this one really hit a homerun for me. I enjoy his Christian based writing, as well as the plausible story lines and prepper tips embedded in the story. I think what I liked most about this series was that the main characters were everyday normal people and not military vets or ex CIA assassins. The plot really hits home given today's economical and political climate. Kevin Pierece also delivered another great performance as the narrator.

New villain every book...meh
To me this felt a little “rushed” to be out with current headline. I have read several books of his, that were all great, but this one felt too predictable. He did a good job of telling a story that contained troubles one would face in a collapse, but they seemed all one right after another. Which while it could be the case, it just seemed very “tv show” like where the characters stay the same but there’s an “insert situation” here feeling. All in all I’d say it was a decent story, I just feel it would had been better if he stuck with one main “villain”

Great Series
I really enjoyed this box set. Great story telling. If you know anything at all about economics and have been even half awake over the past twenty years the story is prophetic. Some listeners have complained about the encouraging Bible references and Christian apologist content; however, I think it makes the story. Their common belief in Jesus Christ and the freedoms afforded by our constitution is what makes their sacrifices and dedication to each other believable. For those that have complained about Mr Goodwin’s Christian references and themes, I will pray for you, as your faithlessness may condemn your soul. I hope and pray that the truth and grace of Jesus Christ might one day be yours to cherish.

Just couldn’t get into this book
I am a huge fan of Mark Goodwin but for some odd reason I just didn’t like this series. The characters are boring and the story is just flat. I loved Ava’s crucible and all his other books but this one just didn’t score in my opinion. Will continue to follow Mark Goodwin because this is the first series that I didn’t enjoy. I have enjoyed all of his other books and series.

disconnected morals
So, I like that this author is unapologetically a Christian and writes from his own standards. What is really hard to swallow is how a pastor can actually maim/kill a person on purpose, but then decry like action in someone else...because the motive or reason is wrong. Likewise, maim, killing etc, but not wanting to sing in a bar. The language is also puritanical...like " fornicate". Ok, we all know what that means, but no one says that anymore. I started out liking the author and topic...in fact I've listened to 2 other box sets, but this one just was over the top with these issues. Probably won't buy any more, because it becomes cringe worthy listening!

It is a good book for any prepper, and I know that you will love it! Like all Mark Goodwin books it is amazing. I liked how it has a lot of coming to Faith moments and having faith in God when things get tough. it's a great reminder you always have to trust God, and be prepared.

I Was Dissappointed
I listened to this and got the distinct impression it was a rushed series to get it out there. Very little depth and it just seemed there was a lot more conflicts and the characters are becoming more and more secular. What I observed was a main character who lived his life for himself and God was a cheer leader. A lot of "Oh by the way God" help me to do what I want to do. So those of you offended by the Biblical quotations should be picking that Bible up and learning for yourselves and not thinking that this fictional lead character is a good example of what a genuine follower of Christ is.
