She clutches his small, limp body, frozen, until a pair of strong hands push her aside, and she watches as George, a local doctor, saves her son’s life. Publisher's Summary
In Danielle Steel's remarkable new novel, one of her most memorable characters comes to terms with unfinished business and long-buried truths as the mother of three very different daughters with three singular fathers.
As a young intern at an art gallery in Paris, Isabelle McAvoy meets Putnam Armstrong, wealthy, gentle, older, and secluded from the world. Isabelle's relationship with Putnam, and her time at his chateau on the Normandy coast, are the stuff of dreams. But it turns real when she becomes pregnant, for she knows that marriage is out of the question.
When Isabelle returns to New York, she enters a new relationship that she hopes will be more stable and traditional. But she soon realizes she has made a terrible mistake and again finds herself a single mother.
With two young daughters and no husband, Isabelle finally and unexpectedly finds happiness and a love that gives her a third child, a baby as happy as her beloved father. And yet, once again, life brings dramatic changes.
The three girls grow up to be very different women, and Isabelle's relationship with each of them is unique. While raising her girls alone, Isabelle also begins building a career as a successful art consultant. Then, one final turn of fate brings a past secret to light, bonds mother and daughters closer, and turns a challenge into a blessing.

It's blah but it's ok
Sometimes a simple story, with nothing extraordinary, no fireworks or super heroes is ok. If you just want to follow a woman and her family through her life experiences, that's that. I don't know if I should call it a feel good story but that's what comes to mind.

It was an easy storyline and a nice diversion from Today’s newspaper and TV headlines. Some of the detail was a little fuzzy and too much of it came together too quickly towards the end. The narration was very good. This book is like a good summer read.

the worst book I've ever ever heard.
my husband and I started giggling because of the things they were saying to each other. Then we got annoyed by chapter 2. I feel asleep and woke up in the middle of the book where the main character repeatedly talks about why her daughters can't get along and why they are that way. and then 5 minutes later she said there whole thing over. it's not only the worst book I've ever heard but my husband also. I want my $5.00 back. and I want to be paid for the trams of listening to it! 🤣

Overly simple and predictable
As I listened to this I quickly remembered why I stopped reading or listening to books by Danielle Steele. I’m always disappointed when a story is told mostly in the third person as this one was. The story was much too predictable with shallow characters and elementary school phrasing. Very disappointing!
