Four years after the death of her husband, Hartley’s best friend finally convinces her to get back on the dating scene by setting her up on a few blind dates. As she is slowly starting to get the hang of dating, she notices disturbing things happening at home, including her husband’s items being left around her apartment, even though they’ve been in storage for years.

Not sure whether she truly has a stalker or her grief is just messing with her as she is trying to move on, Hartley’s unease rises as the incidents keep escalating. Even as her best friend and the guy she’s seeing try to convince her it’s all in her head, she can’t help but be scared.

This book kept me guessing right until the end. I loved how attentive Jacob was from the beginning, and also how Ace played the alpha hero. I also appreciated how, as scared as she was, Hartley remains strong and refuses to play the victim.
