As a trainee in the Black Dagger Brotherhood’s program, Boone has triumphed as a soldier and now fights side by side with the Brothers. Following his sire’s unexpected death, he is taken off rotation against his protests - and he finds himself working with Butch O’Neal, former homicide cop, to catch a serial killer: Someone is targeting females of the species at a live-action role-play club. When the Brotherhood is called in to help, Boone insists on being a part of the effort - and the last thing he expects is to meet an enticing, mysterious female...who changes his life forever.

Ever since her sister was murdered at the club, Helaine has been committed to finding the killer, no matter the danger she faces. When she crosses paths with Boone, she doesn’t know whether to trust him or not - and then she has no choice. As she herself becomes a target, and someone close to the Brotherhood is identified as the prime suspect, the two must work to together to solve the mystery...before it’s too late. Will a madman come between the lovers or will true love and goodness triumph over a very mortal evil?

JR Ward has done it again

4.5 Blue Roses
4 Blue Flames
O my goodness this was good! It felt a little stretched out at times. But, still JR Ward has such great talent. I had some seriously LOL moments, people next to me thought I was going crazy.
Where does she get all the wayward and yet so original stuff she comes up with? The comparisons and statements are so in line with a stand up comedy. Her murder scenes are dark, bloody and highly descriptive. Everything is done with such an outrageousness, it's almost laughable, but it is not. Because it's murder and murder is not funny, right?

Jim Frangione brings this all to life and I cannot stop myself from listening to this in one sitting. I do miss the paranormal side, like Lassiter. I hoped he would appear at least once.
The sexy times are hot and not overly done. Boone sounds very sexy and I just love Jim Frangiones' voice for our vampires. He does not do a big variety of voices and seemed to have lost Butch's New York accent. I rather loved Butch' voice New Yorky.

If your a BDB fan, don't miss this audiobook.
Happy Listening.

An important issue was overlooked!

First, I d like to convey how much I enjoyed the interview with Jim Frangione, the narrator, at the end of the book. Although I have a list of favorite narrators, Mr Frangione, in my opinion, is the most talented, rounded narrator I’ve ever heard. He can voice both sexes and ages young and old. He can also do so many accents. He has made this good series, Great!

This book focuses on solving a serial murder case. Of course, there is some misdirection that I figured out early on but, it did not ruin the book. There are some bumps, in the road, for this couple but, everything gets sorted out, in the end.

My only real issue, with this book that Boone is having some individual emotional, mental issues that are not addressed or resolved, in this book. Boone has even been ordered to visit with the Brotherhood’s therapist but, the author neglected to follow through on this, in this book.

With that being said, I will continue to gobble up every book released in the BDB and BDB Legacy series, as soon as they are released. This is one series I pray never ends!

Truly loved it.

I hate it when I come to end of a good book! I never want to leave these characters at the end of their stories; what am I supposed to do now?😭

Blood Truth

Blood Truth was a treat, we get more of the trainees but we also get some old school BDB, a mystery that needs solving. I really enjoyed Boone and Helania. The dynamic and how they worked together but also how they figured out the killings.

The Band of Bastards or at least 2 of them really kind of come into play and I like getting to know their characters better. I am really looking forward to their books I hope we do get them because I bet they have something interesting to say.

Butch and Helania strike an understanding and I really liked that about this book. We get to see what made Butch such a great detective and why. I mean we knew why but to see it now with who he has become was well special.

The treat at the end of the book with Jim and JR was wonderful I adored this and getting to be a fly on the wall. How incredible is that?

great book but

there were some things that were not buttoned up at the end relating to the murders and the Band of Brothers. I really hope that the next book in the series cleans it up.

J.R.Ward's world of vampires is one of the best in

Part four of the Black Dagger Legacy books, Blood Truth, is the tale of the final trainee Boone. After an injury takes him out of the field, Boone works to solve a murder case. During the investigation, he meets Helaine and is instantly drawn to her, as she is to him.

Boone and the rest of the trainee group for that matter, have escaped the glymera's aristocratic confines, which thrills me to no end. It appears the largest conflicts come from their old world, prejudice beliefs, and the next generation is rising above it. Boone struggles with this in his household, but Helaine supports him in coming to terms with it. The couple has great chemistry, and they meet at a time when they both require a change in their lives.

Although the core focus is not on the Brotherhood, they are still present throughout Boone's story. I enjoy that every legacy book assumes a minor pause from the main BDB story arc. I enjoy the trainees interacting with the Brothers away from the war. Blood Truth, for example, is predominantly a murder mystery. Butch puts his detective shoes on, and it is delightful to experience. I have a secret hope he can eventually go back to that full time.

J.R.Ward's world of vampires is one of the best in the genre. These books possess a unique voice, are suspenseful and witty. I typically find little wrong when reading from the Black Dagger Brotherhood world. I did experience some minor annoyance during Blood Truth with the convenient wrap up of the murders and a lack of thorough explanation, but I can live with that. Everything else lives up to my expectations.

Great legacy book

All of JR Wards books are awesome. I really loved the characters on this one and seeing Butch play the coo again was fun.
