Publisher's Summary

Her:

I wanted to have a pity party of one when I went for that beer. I never imagined I would meet a dark and dangerous man. That man took me on the wildest ride of my life. Literally and figuratively. He quickly became my entire world.

Him:

I didn't know I was looking for her. I saw her warming that bar stool and knew she would be mine. A man like me doesn't deserve the likes of her. But damned if I didn't take it.

Her:

When we met for the first time we didn't know that we already had a connection. A cruel game was being played, and we didn't know the rules. Sam would save us, but at what cost? Sam was one of my main reasons for living. If he wasn't in this world anymore, would I still want to be a part of it?

Loved, loved, LOVED!!

I’d like to submit this review as formal apology to my friends for not listening sooner and mreading/listening to this book. OHMAHGAWD! What is this sorcery that Lani Lynn Vale has because I was hooked from the very first minute.

I absolutely loved Cheyenne. The sass is strong with that one. I loved all her quirks and sweet side. She was just likable and reminded me of a few of my girlfriends. Then there’s Sam. He’s a hot ex Army ranger, owns a garage where he fixes motorcycles and cars, and he and his buddies also help battered women escape violent situations. Umm, how am I supposed to not perpetually swoon and love him? The answer don’t even try. Together these two are hot and freaking adorable. From their hilarious banter to their palpable chemistry everything was just right.

This story had everything from delicious steam to page-turning suspense to a romance that you couldn’t help but to root for. Not only was the story great, but so were the narrators. Mason Lloyd was the perfect Sam. With that deep voice and swagger he had me in a constant state of swoon. Stephanie Rose is one of my go-to narrators and she shined as Cheyenne. She brought our her spunkiness and sassy attitude just perfectly. I can’t wait for the next in the series. 5 stars.

So Done With LLV

This is the second book I’ve read by LLV and the second book that had an annoying main character and a female who got pregnant, knew it and then CHOSE TO IGNORE IT. Seriously?!?!? Yes I totally agree with other reviews who hated her and said she was super immature because she totally was, but I wouldn’t have hated LLV for it as much as I do if not for this pregnancy selfishness and total and complete irresponsibleness. That was really infuriating and made me so disgusted with the author as well as the MC. There were also a lot of things said in this book that were completely wrong, what sounded like entire chapters or pages just cut out so things didn’t line up or make sense at times, and the absolute worst female narrator I have ever heard. She sounded like a snobby teenage valley girl adding that extra syllable and nasty attitude to literally every single thing she said. I am as done with Stephanie Rose as I am with LLV. Ugh I’m so annoyed about wasting my time with this book. It definitely won’t happen again.

The story is fantastic!!... But...

I normally love the audio books of LLV but the female narrator is just horrible. I love Kandal Taylor and Mason Lloyd together. They make me feel like im just a fly on the wall watching and listening. Stephanie Rose sounds ok but it's very stilted and jerky. It's almost painful to listen and i must be honest i couldn't get past the first chapter. The story itself is great. I have the kindle verson of all her books and i buy all her audio ones as well. Please if this gets back to LLV (dreaming.. lol) or whoever hires the narrators, please please PLEASE!!! bring back Kendal Taylor

Spoiled selfish entitled brat.

Cheyenne is just an awful person. She is mean and selfish. i wish i would have counted how many times the word fatass came up in this book. The female narrator had a voice that would grate on anyone's nerves. Cheyenne is also so childish. what grown woman would stare at someone until they give her their donut and then shove it inhale mouth? That's something a 4 year old would do. just not happy with this book. was just awful. hope the other books in this series are better.

Performance stilted

Love the story itself, didn’t like the performance at all. Disappointed as I had planned to get the entire series on Audible.

One night stand romance. 1POV. HEA. Standalone.

This is a “hot damn” insta love, one night stand romance. It has a very mild MC storyline. It’s a pretty easy listen. The narration is good and bad. Mason Lloyd is good. Stephanie rose is bad. There’s a sweet HEA. It can be listened as a standalone but there are more in the series.

Great start to a coming series

Worth the credit. Lani’s stories ring true to real life. This one so far my favorite.
