To Be Queen Or Not?

I enjoyed the first book of the series, but I liked this book more. This second book details Kalina's struggles, both internal and external, as to whether she should be queen of the Valdirs or not. The tale describes Kalina's interpersonal relationships, not only with her subjects, but also with her dragon. There are twists and turns, some battle scenes, and complex developments that increased my interest in reading the next book in the series. I recommend this book to others who enjoy this genre. Elizabeth DeVault's narration is more consistent in this book than in the first one, and I found it to be more pleasing. I was given a free copy of the audiobook and I have voluntarily left this review.

The Narrator does a Great job with the characters and the storyline of this book. Kalina becomes Queen of the Valdir after her father is killed defending his people. Kalina's Mother Queen Cherise travels across the waste heavily Pregnant to bring word of her husband's plans of attacking the Valdirs.
