Publisher's Summary

There are some things that even a centuries-old sorcerer hesitates to challenge....

When Nathan Garrett’s friend seeks his help investigating a bloody serial killer, the pattern of horrific crimes leads to a creature of pure malevolence, born of hatred and dark magic. As powerful as he is, Nate fears he may be overmatched, but when evil targets those he cares about and he is confronted by dire threats both old and new, Nate must reveal a secret from his recently remembered past to remind his enemies why they should fear him once more.

Born of Hatred, set in modern London with historical flashbacks to America’s Old West, continues the dark urban fantasy of Crimes Against Magic, the acclaimed first book in the gritty and action-packed Hellequin Chronicles.

A good book made excellent by the narrator!

Overall the action, story and characters are very well rounded. The story grabbed and pulled me in.

Now for the narrator. James Langton is phenominal. I tend to purchase books, based on who is narrating, more so than the author. His pitch, change of characters, inflection are wonderful to listen to. His voice is so perfectly suited to narrate books. I tend to notice narrators. Breaths in, a certain pitch, voices not suited to characters, or some other foible. What makes JL a great narrator, is that you don't notice him. The book became a continuous movie in my head, without the interuptions of the narrators reading style.

A good book, made excellent by the narration. Onto the next book!
