Publisher's Summary

I’m the guy you call when you need to impress your overbearing family, your boss, or your ex. Yeah, I’m a male escort, but not just any escort, I’m the escort. The one with a mile-long waiting list and a pristine reputation that’s very well-deserved.

I’m the guy who’ll make you feel beautiful, desired, and worshipped...all for a steep price. I’m hired to make you shine, and I always deliver.

I’ll be whatever you want me to be for one night - except my true self. This is just a job, a role I play to earn a paycheck.

But I’m not the guy who falls for a client. Not once in six years.

And then I meet Elle. Her friend has hired me to escort her to a wedding, but Elle doesn’t know we’re just pretending.

There’s a fire between us I never expected. A connection I haven’t felt in so long. One kiss, and I’m losing all control.

But what will happen when she finds out who I really am?

Predicable romance novel

The story line is very predicable. The characters run of the mill for a romance novel. I had difficulty listening to the female narrator. It sounds like she has a cold and needs to blow her nose. Quite annoying.

Great!

Had trouble putting it down... Listened to it every spare time I had, in the car, in my bedroom!

So good!!!

Funny, sweet, sexy - this is perfection! I love this authors humor and the way she writes banter, it's fantastic. Narration was really well done too! Highly recommend!

From fake to forever

Written by Kendall Ryan and narrated by Jason Clarke and Erin Mallon, Boyfriend for Hire is a contemporary romance that has an escort named Nic Evans falling for the woman he's been hired to keep company. What starts off as a fake becomes forever for Nic and his Elle (who doesn't have a last name mentioned in the story), but as expected, there's a whole lot of stuff they need to contend with before they actually get their happily-ever-after.

This is the first in an untitled series of standalones and everything pretty much plays out the way you would think but with Kendall Ryan adding her own creative touch to it. I know some readers didn't like that he was with other women, but the guy IS an escort and being with other women is part of his job. I appreciated the author not glossing over that fact but also not delving too deeply into it either. Nic is essentially a good guy and being an escort is merely what pays his bills and not his life's ambition.

There's a degree of naivete when it comes to Elle, but she was also a woman who embraced her sexuality and I liked that about her. Together, she and Nic shared a believable connection, and Erin Mallon and Jason Clarke did a really fantastic job bringing these two to life. I'm giving four stars for the story and five stars for the performance, which averages to 4.5 stars overall for Boyfriend for Hire. ♥

enjoyed the story

I really enjoyed the story, but was distracted by the female narrators exaggerated ending to her phrasing. The male narrator was good and had a great speech flow.

Not My Favorite

I was very excited when I heard the male narrator, but once I hear the females voice it was a turn off for me. I like how it was two different voices per gender but I wasn't a fan of the way she portrayed her voice. Also, I feel like the story was too short with not enough detail and plot twists. Not a hit for me but I can understand how some people could like it.

Interaction

Liked both the narrators and the book, I’m just wondering why the narrators don’t interact? They both change their voices to imitate the other person when they’re talking to each other instead of actually talking to one another. This is strange and confusing to me.

Not your typical romance story

If you thinking this will be a redemption story about a man who is so caught up in his ways that being an escort is the best job in the world for him. This story is far from it. It's a beautiful story of finding yourself in the lowest moments and celebrating life.
Ryan has written some of my favourite books and this one join the ranks. Elle isn't a cookie cutter heroine , she may have a little chip on her shoulder about her body but she is gorgeous inside and out. Perfect for our hero who just needs a sweet girl like Elle to break him out his funk.
The blurb may paint a picture of Nic being this suave guy who knows all the tricks. However there is much to more to the story and I loved his journey of seeking a new beginning . It was sweet and fun the whole way. I want more from this couple as their HEA is not enough. As the adventure is only the beginning for them. As for the narrotors, I believe this my first time with this pairing I could be wrong though. I thought they did a good job with the performance and bring these two sweet characters to life making this book perfect.

Great listen!

I have been waiting for this one to be released, and was pleased to get today. I love both of these narrators, especially Erin Mallon. Pretty well anything she narrates is an automatic download for me, and the dual narration with Jason Clarke and a title by Kendall Ryan made this worth a credit!
This story has a bit more depth to it than one may think by just reading the descrption (don't dismiss it at being too shallow or superficial)...but at the same time, it's not an intense story line either. It's just great for when you need a time out, a few laughs, several swoons, some sexy hotness thrown in here and there, followed by the HEA.
I love how the characters meet and have this instant chemistry, but he keeps holding back, which naturally is frustrating to her. He does all the right things, but she receives some information a bit prematurely. And the struggles are real! But they were sometimes...real 👍!
**Oooh, and there is bonus goodies thrown in at the end for good measure...to make sure we come back for the NEXT listen to follow this one as well. And I might add that they were NOT all that stingy with how much bonus material was given! Usually you get just a snipet to lure you in. Nope, you are left with some waaay good stuff and I can't wait to now get a hold of this next one to see how things go with Kase! Yum!

Male escort finds true love

Unconventional Romance about a male escort along the lines of Pretty Woman and a young woman in need of a date for a wedding. The guy is kind hearted and sweet as well as very experienced but I think ElI should have required a clean medical certificate - even with Nick’s use of condoms and oral rule. Not sure why if he made so much money he couldn’t go to school part time or start that construction business earlier but the ending was cute. Plus a preview of The Hookup Handbook.

Pass

This book doesn’t do it for me. It seems rushed like they’re just trying to get in the major events of a fairytale. The chemistry is also disappointing. All the guy does is constant compliment the girl. The female lead is always apologizing for every little thing she does. Overall, I’d pass on this book.

WOW, wowizer, holy smokes

This book was sooo good. I loved the theme behind it, it's unusual but it works for this girl. Nick aka Nick is every woman's dream. I mean seriously he is hot flash city. Add on Elle and damn you got a hit. Let's just say that her ex should be pushed off a cliff, not to,mention receiving a good kick in the pants.
I can't wait to start reading Chase's story it should be good. So ladies grab an big glass of ice water and sit back and enjoy. Happy reading
