Publisher's Summary
Rule #1 - Hands off my best friend's kid sister
Rule #2 - See rule number one
Rule #3 - Seriously, don’t even think about touching Emma
Emma Kane is my new roommate. My very off-limits roommate. My gorgeous, sassy, hot-as-hell roommate.
I try to keep my distance. To ignore her soft laugh, her intense eyes, her sweet smile.
And that groan, the one she makes over her morning coffee - alright, the feisty college student is driving me out of my mind.
I can still keep my hands off her.
I double down on my rules. Draw that line between friends and lovers.
Then she presses her red lips to mine.
And, suddenly, it’s obvious.
There’s no way in hell I can resist her.
From the author: Breaking the Rules is a smoking hot standalone brother's best friend romance with an alpha hero and a feisty heroine who brings him to his knees. Come see why fans say "no one writes broken bad boys like Crystal Kaswell."

Hunter the hottie
This book is one of my favorite. I love hunter and Emma. There’s sexual tension and sarcasm and bantering back and forth and with half the tattoo artist. It’s a cute story with characters who deserve a happy ending.

Just meh...
I have listened to several books in this series and enjoyed them, but this one was just meh for me. Wen Ross sounds bored in his narration of Hunter’s internal monologue and it becomes grating over the course of the book. There isn’t much plot development other than waiting for Emma and Hunter to have sex. Spoiler alert: I’m disappointed that Emma didn’t press charges against the man who attacked her. I understand wanting to put the incident behind her and move on, but it left the assailant free to continue preying on other women. It would have been a good moment for the author to encourage women reading this book who’ve been victims to report their assaults and to seek counseling for themselves (and possibly their partner) to truly heal from their trauma. Instead it seems like the author was in a hurry to wrap up a story that otherwise kind of rambled aimlessly.

Smiling from the start to the end
Nice story, without too much hassle, spicy and sweet. The readers are good. I'd recommend it for a light moment of fun.
