Just what I needed to hear

Love it! Food is for fuel not always for pleasure. Overeating is sinful and our bodies are meant to be God’s temple. Very enlightening

Excellent book.

So good to hear my story exactly. I’ve known all of this for a long time but could not keep myself from going back again and again. In 2017 on my birthday I announced I would try being Vegan for 30 days. I did really good and continued but about 6 months into it and not yet to goal weight, I decided to allow snacks here and there and not be so dogmatic. I did not gain all my weight back only about 10-12 lbs. however it has been a chronic never ending juggling of fasting, not eating at night etc, etc to hold this ground and I am still 20 lbs from goal. Also my body changed and looks so much worse then it did before I became a vegan. The part this book brought out to me was my sin before God. I am repenting and praising him for His mercy and grace. I do not have a supportive spouse yet and have to cook all meals and snacks. He wants nothing to do with this live or the Lord. I will continue to pray for his deliverance and salvation I am confident in the Lord my deliverer can deliver him as well. His book brought the spiritual piece that I needed and I know God will see me through this. Thank you both for your book and your obedience. It has made a significant change in my thinking and obedience as well

Excellent

This book has helped me in many ways. I am very grateful for it! My only complaint… It’s not about the book itself but about one of the readers. Susan Hanfield has a tendency to sound… I don’t know how else to put it… Arrogant. I don’t think she intends to but that’s the way she comes across. Anyway other than that I loved the book!

A wasted Audible credit

A disgusting and condescending guilt trip. And they call themselves Christians? There were no helpful tips at all, just these two egomaniacs spouting that they used to be overweight and now they aren't. Maybe reading the book wouldn't be so bad but listening was agony, especially when Nancy would narrate. A total waste of one of my credits.

Godly & Pertinent Book

Wife struggling with severe sleep apnea after 3 children and a semi sedentary lifestyle. I wanted my wife to live a long and joyous life and was concerned.
We didn't want her to have to take medication and wear sleep apnea contraptions to deal with the reality. This book is both spiritual and health focused and was exactly the "medicine" she needed! I was barely overweight, but have lost over 25 lbs in 3 months without much excersize and her about 20 lbs... and her sleep apnea is going away! Yay! Victory!

We've tried whole food plant based in the past, with limited success because we couldn't maintain, but this book helped us see the importance of maintaining.

I continue to recommend this book to those struggling with food addictions. Very challenging, but rewarding read!

Not great advice.

I love Michael Brown. Yes, based eating will make you feel great over eating bad food, but you *will* have several deficiencies if you aren’t fully supplementing properly. In regards to exercise he says form doesn’t matter which is quite unfortunate. But I did like the analysis of food, our bodies, and the spiritual side of it.

Book was very helpful!

I didn’t enjoy the narrators tone. Book was very helpful, I will have to read it a couple times more to help learn/master the tools shared to change my mindset on food. - Gayle @RemovingMyFatsuit

Super heavy on the religion

Didn't finish it, listened for two hours.
Wasn't expecting every paragraph to be about Christianity, gluttony being a sin, you're only a steward of your body, etc.
Expected a more clinical approach.
Narrators did a great job, and if you're Christian maybe you'll get something out of it.

GREAT book

This book has been a huge help to me. I think people who are chronically overweight, like me, need to change how they think about eating and this book helps to do that. its especially helpful that the author and his wife are so incredibly relatable as they too struggled significantly with their weight .
