Publisher's Summary

Joey....

I wouldn't say I ran away exactly - 22 is too old for that.

I'd call it self-preservation.

I have one objective: protect my heart from the boy next door who has no clue I've loved him my whole life, even with a front row seat to his revolving bedroom door.

My escape plan almost worked.

Except I left one thing behind.

Logan Carter hijacked my heart, and it's time to get it back. This time for good.

Logan....

I wouldn't say I've been lying this whole time - not about everything.

Not about how much I miss my best friend, and definitely not about how pissed I am that she left with hardly a goodbye.

She's the last person I ever expected to ghost me, and her absence left a gaping hole in my chest.

When Joey Grayson steps off that bus, I know I'll do anything to keep her home, and that means finding out the truth.

But I'm not sure how to tell her my truths when I'm living so many lies.

Great audiobook

I always love Joe Ardens voice He is an awesome Logan. at the beginning Joey seemed pretty immature and accepting of Logan’s treatment of her. as the story progressed I loved the interaction between Joey and Logan. The dual POV and narrators helped bring it together. Very worth the listen!!!!

OK

BREATHLESS is the third novel in the TEXAS NIGHTS series, but it’s a stand-alone. I'd recommend reading each story in order if you can, but if you read them out of order, you will not be lost.

BREATHLESS didn’t pull at my heart-strings in the same way as the first two books SHAMELESS and RECKLESS (5 star books for me). I think it’s because Joey’s love for Logan is established in the past/before the book begins. We are told about her falling in love but I didn’t experience it along with her and I needed to.

Even though I felt the chemistry between Logan and Joey was well described, I’d have preferred more time being shown the build up to their love than the detailed love-making scenes. That’s just me, though.

The performances of narrators Joe Arden and Rose Dioro were perfect for this story giving Logan and Joey (and all the other characters) the right sound.

Romance Novel Perfection

This is a prime example of what a romance novel should be! All the feels!! This book entices you from the beginning and is the perfect blend of sweet, romantic and steamy as hell! I have enjoyed this entire series but Breathless is my absolute fave. Don’t miss this great story! Narration is wonderful as well. Rose was fantastic and I ❤️ Joe Arden!!

Where’s My Logan?

This was a completely different book than the story of Tori and Ethan. It wasn’t a laugh out loud kind of book. In fact, I don’t think I laughed but one time during the whole story. It was actually heartbreaking, and so very sweet. Joey is the type of girl you want to hug and have as your best friend. She’s kind, but has such low self-esteem because of the lack of love she received as a child. It actually broke my heart. The love story between the two just melted my heart. You find out things about Logan that make you see him in a different way, but the kindness and loyalty he showed Joey as they grew up was just the sweetest of all. During this book you get an insight of how the both of them were like as children. She adored him, and he adored her. Plus, The way he was with his mom is what makes him even sexier. This just gave me all the feels.

Best Friends Romance

I am glad that I got Logan's book. He was way more complex than I could have imagined and we really understand him. I also loved that this romance wasn't with a random woman he meets, but this love he always harbored for his best friend Joey. We get tidbits of the relationship they had growing up and we find out why things seemed a bit tense between them. Logan finally pulled his head out of the sand and went after her with no hesitation. He really deserved his HEA. Things of course can't be simple and Logan needs to let go of the baggage with his father and he's hiding a secret. The tension will either break them apart after all the time spent apart or will solidify their trust in each other. I love Joe Arden, he is always fantastic and I really love the way his voice sounds. Rose Dioro is another narrator that I enjoy and she has a soft, calculated voice. Her voice is one that sounds like she's always pondering something. Can't explain it.
