Publisher's Summary

In Hatchet, 13-year-old Brian Robeson learned to survive alone in the Canadian wilderness, armed only with his hatchet. Finally, as millions know, he was rescued at the end of the Summer. But what if Brian hadn't been rescued? What if he had been left to face his deadliest enemy - Winter?

Gary Paulsen raises the stakes for survival in this riveting and inspiring story as one boy confronts the ultimate test and the ultimate adventure.

It was okay

I thought that this story was okay because it was. Also I thought that the guy who was reading it had a voice that was very boring and I fell asleep all the time.

Wonderful survival tale!

As I listened to "Hatchet" I thought that Brian just barely survived then I listened to "Brian's Winter," and I couldn't believe all the great lessons in dealing with nature in winter as well as life's problems and our own attitudes. This series gives many life lessons that I'll keep with me always. I loved the story and the narration and heartedly recommend this wonderful audio book.

LOVED IT!! Read this after Hatchet, even though it's 3rd in series. You'll be happy!

Awesome book, decent reader

Hatchet was so awesome that I had to hear this sequel. At first I thought it was weird that it was an alternate ending to Hatchet, but in the end I enjoyed it even more. The high detail of how Brian learned to survive was realistic and fun. You get a sense of how much the character had changed since the beginning of hatchet, so it's kind of a coming of age book. Anyone that dreams of living off the land will enjoy this. The reader was pretty good too.

Perfect for Children and Teens

An excellent primer for beginner survival or just a good read about a boy that is a good traditional role-model for perseverance. Don't skip this one. Too many modern books might betray you; this one does not.

Love this series

Even though the stories of survival are similar nature in Paulsen books , there’s just enough variation and suspense to keep you engaged. The author leaves you satisfied, but not wanting the book to end just yet.
