Publisher's Summary

I lost her once. I won’t lose her again.

After my brother’s death, I was drowning.
Delilah was my life raft.
We were opposites, the outspoken art student and the brooding athlete. She was passionate where I was apathetic, bright where I was dark, soft where I was hard.
For two years, we had everything. The kind of love that only exists in fairy tales.
Then she left and took my heart with her.
I tried to heal. To throw myself into medical school. To forget her.
I thought I did.
Until today.
Those blue eyes, that sweet smile, the soft curves--that's my Delilah.
As soon as I hear her laugh, I know.
She's what’s missing from my life.
I have three days to get her back.
God, I hope I'm as charming as I used to be.

From the author: Broken is a standalone second chance romance full of heat, heart, and heartbreak. Come see why readers say "Crystal Kaswell is the master of writing sharp, wounded characters who keep you on your toes."

A must listen!

It is different from most of Crystal’s stories but does not disappoint, quite the opposite actually. She dives deep into a not so discussed topic that I think should be discussed more and does an amazing job with it. Trent and Delilah’s story is so real and honest. It sucks you in wondering what caused her to leave and then you fall hard when you find out and just deepens your love for the characters. It’s much different from the fall hard rock stars and tattoo artist stories, which I love. It’s much more deep and you get so much more story line with the bouncing back and forth from past to present. A lot of authors can not transition well with that but Crystal obviously knows what she is doing there.

Superb!!!

Kai and Wen are seriously amazing! their voices really make you feel the intensity of Del and Rents's relationship! They bring Crystal's words to life and make you want more! Delilah and Trent's story is one of amazing courage, true love that withstands all, and so many trial and tribulations! Crystal held Del's secret over our heads the whole story leaving me constantly guessing what it could be that she was hiding. The sensitive matter of this story was handled and written in the most beautiful manner I have ever read! I hope we hear more from the Stone family in the future!!!

Delilah and Trent

This is a beautifully written book about a real hard subject. It is also a nice second chance story. It grabbed me in the beginning but it finally reeled me in. I would still recommend this book and I loved the duet narration. Sisters Spotlight 💕

First Time

This book was not an easy read, but it was beautifully written. This is the first audiobook that I’ve listen to by Crystal Kaswell. It’s also the first time I’ve heard the duel narration by Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross. I really liked how they did this together with Kai performing all the women parts and Wen performing the male, rather them just reading their own chapter designated to their character. They both did an excellent job and were very easy to listen to.

The topic of depression and suicide is really difficult for me because I have suffered from depression throughout the years. I understand getting to the point where you feel others would be better off without you. Thankfully, I have the support of people who love me. I used to feel guilty about it, but not anymore.

The unconditional love that Trent gives to his family and to Delilah makes me want to date him. I think he has become my new book boyfriend. 😊 I’ve read that this isn’t the type of book that Crystal writes normally. I wouldn’t know since this is the first book I’ve read of hers, but if this book is any indication of how she writes, and I look forward to reading many other books of hers in the future.

God story!💜

Good story, great narration but it didn’t have the WOW factor for me! This is my first book by Crystal Kaswell but I would love to try her again.

Overall good story

There were parts that were super frustrating. Sometimes communication is all it takes. The themes of depression are genuine and convey the feelings in a heartfelt way.

Wonderful, difficult story

This story melted me. It was emotional, brave, full of hope and love. Tough subject matter but handled responsibly. I loved the narration, and I could feel the story’s tension bleed through my headphones.

Eye Opening!

This is an eye opening book. It covers a serious issue that plagues many people today and provides a better understanding of said issue. Really a must read or hear book.

I hope noone ever feels the way of the heroine but if they do, listen to this book and find the best out of life.

Thank you Crystal for bringing this ignored issue to life!

Emotional!

This was a heartfelt story that will stick in my mind for years to come. Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross hit a homerun when they went to bat narrating it! It was already a hot story, but their voices made it hotter!

My Thoughts on Broken

Broken by Crystal Kaswell is the newest standalone by this author and this one is very heavy on the angst. But it also has two people who clearly have a very deep love.

Delilah and Trent met in college and while they didn't have much in common on the surface, they have an amazing connection the moment they actually give themselves a chance to get to know one another. Their relationship is very intense. That's the first word that comes to mind when I think of them and what I just read. There are secrets that tore them apart and are preventing them from being together. But that pull is just too strong to be denied.

One of my favorite parts of this book was Trent's siblings. He had the meddle and butt in your life kind of relationship with them because they clearly loved each other. But there family has also been through a great loss that has affected them all differently. I feel like each of Trent's siblings have their own story just waiting to be told, and I hope I get to read them some day.

Overall this was a good story, with lots of emotions and tugs on the heart strings. The narration was exceptional though. There were moments that Kai and Wen had me tearing up with their amazing performance. This is a must listen to story.
